What Portugal beaches do you recommend for surf/family holiday?

We're going to interrail to Portugal in August. I've been to cities but not the beaches.

Can anyone suggest any nice beaches? Surfing, swimming and even campsites?

Is the water still very cold in August?

It’s not the prettiest but look at Peniche. The surfing is great, food excellent and cheap. It’s not a campsite but would also recommend Maverick Surf Villas. You’ll need a wetsuit as the water is chilly even in August
