I was insulted today and told I look much older than I am. Could I ask you to tell me how old you think? Blush

Be kind, but honest

Why link to the Reddit thread?

Sagradafamiliar · 19/01/2020 15:35

Feeling 36? You do have a youthful face though!

Inappropriatefemale · 19/01/2020 15:36

I just wanted to read what they were saying on Reddit, the comments are far worse here!

IhateBoswell · 19/01/2020 15:38

As bizarre as they're entertaining, these type of threads.

fatisnotafeeling · 19/01/2020 15:39

I am 39, well in 2 weeks, so I am happy that I look my actual age rather then older.

Although I am 27 weeks pregnant so do look rather shattered at the moment.

greathat · 19/01/2020 16:07

You def have the look of a smoker about you. There's something about the wrinkles. I can never get over the super fit looking heavily made up women coming out of the gym and immediately lighting up a fag. Kind of renders the rest pointless

ZaraW · 19/01/2020 16:22

Why link to the Reddit thread?

Why not? Did you really think this post wouldn't be commented on outside MN?

claireyjs · 19/01/2020 16:36

Even with filters you look older than me and I'm 46 so I'd say mid 50s...

Sagradafamiliar · 19/01/2020 16:38

Why not?

Because it's a bit shit. And if course not, I read it last night and posted on it I think.

Ellapaella · 19/01/2020 16:38

It'll probably be in the DM on Monday.

LaMarschallin · 19/01/2020 16:40

Are the main aims of filters to give weirdly large eyes, strangely pointy chins and plastic skin?

I don't use them myself (don't really bother with selfies unless my daughters take them of the three of us) but those seem to be the main effects when they're used in pictures here.

Or maybe it's something about the MN site, because even some photos that apparently don't have filters have that sort of alien look (like this, but not green of course:👽).

Or are people still using them and hoping other posters won't notice...?

Because fishing for compliments with a doctored photo seems both sad (in the old fashioned sense) and pointless.

And I wouldn't dream of putting my own photo here (the world is not ready...) or guessing someone else's age. But it's still a strangely fascinating thread to follow.

Bibijayne · 19/01/2020 16:42

Hard with the filters. But mid 50s I think.

Ashtower · 19/01/2020 16:44

?

CassandrasCastle · 19/01/2020 16:45

People still breezing in and guessing 60s, 'just being honest op' then doing wee blushy faces when TRUE AGE IS REVEALED. @LaMarschallin I can't seem to stop glancing at this thread, fascinating is the word...

CassandrasCastle · 19/01/2020 16:46

This thread is way shitter than the Reddit one 🙄

74NewStreet · 19/01/2020 16:48

Do people really put these heavily filtered photos on social media? Do they not think people notice the difference in real life?!
I don’t usually think “God what’ername looks a bit raddled these days” when I see people I know but if they’d posted pictures all over the shop looking like bloody Bambi the difference would be hard to ignore?

Butteredtoast55 · 19/01/2020 16:48

What is the true age? Have I missed it in a bid not to read all 35 pages?

Ashtower · 19/01/2020 16:48

What was the age? I'm on my mobile and can't be bothered to tap scroll through 35 pages. The mobile version needs the option to view 100 posts at once

RickOShay · 19/01/2020 16:57

@SirChing
Sorry I haven’t replied, it’s your eyes I think they’ve got a mischievous glint!

Lobsterquadrille2 · 19/01/2020 17:02

@74NewStreet the whole selfie and filters stuff is definitely not my generation and I wouldn't have the faintest idea (or inclination) of how to add mice ears. However, DD went to university with a girl who doctored every photograph of herself on social media to the extent that she was totally unrecognisable. DD said that nobody ever mentioned it because it would be cruel. I think it's really sad.

74NewStreet · 19/01/2020 17:06

Wow, Lobster. I wonder what she thought the point was? It is indeed very sad.

SirChing · 19/01/2020 17:07

@RickOShay Ha, well I do have a face that shows exactly what I am thinking, so I must have been about to get up to mischief Grin

loveyoutothemoon · 19/01/2020 17:10

45 - 50?
