In the last couple of years I have been put on some medications that have made me put on weight. From being underweight 2 years ago I am now several stone overweight.
I am on 2 medications to help me lose weight and while they seem to have helped me stop gaining weight I am struggling to lose. In the last year I have only lost about half a stone.
I feel the psychiatrist doesn't care so much about weight as long as the medication is working. I'm an in-patient currently and he says I'll lose weight when I'm discharged. I'm not confident about that. I just wish they'd taken my weight gain more seriously to start with so I could have stopped gaining weight earlier. I really don't know what the best strategy to lose weight is in this situation? I was on a weekly special diet but I stopped it after 9 months as I literally could not face eating the same food every week. I'm waiting to see the dietician and looking at the weight loss meds if they can be increased or if to go back on a special diet? Any experience of losing weight on meds?
