To stop this dog pooing on my drive

Please help! Some dog (or more precisely their owner has let them) shit on my drive every day for the last week. Sometimes twice a day.

My kids have to dodge it to get home. I'm fed up of clearing it up. I've tried spraying vinegar as I heard it was a natural deterrent but all that's done is give everything a slight fish and chip smell.

Is there any other way of stopping the dog? I don't blame the dog at all by the way. A dog's gotta do what a dogs gotta do. But their owner needs to clean up. I could have said maybe once the owner didn't realise but it's every day.

I have shitloads going on right now and this is the last thing I should probably be focusing on but it's driving me mad.

Help!

Put a gate on your drive so it can't get into it.

Can't help but a neighbour up the street used to let her dog do it on my mum's drive, she claimed her bad knees and hips meant she couldn't pick it up ( she never picked it up when she was more agile either) well the dog clearly did it at someone else's house and she was reported to the council and fined, it didn't stop her though,
Do you know who the dog owner is? You need to confront them

Sleepycat91 · 18/01/2020 10:42

You could Put your bin in the spot where it keeps happening with a note staying "stop letting your dog shit on my drive- CCTV in operation" or words to that effect?

GoldfishRampage · 18/01/2020 10:46

CCTV - it doesn’t have to be expensive a dash cam would work.

BruceAndNosh · 18/01/2020 10:49

If you do the bin thing, tie your bin lid shut.
If the note shames the owner into picking the mess up,, they will most probably lob it into your handy bin. Ew.

alifelived · 18/01/2020 10:49

CCTV and a note through their door to say that it’s now in operation and you’ll be contacting the council with the dog owner’s address so they know where to send the fine.

What a manky bastard.

Thanks. I can't put a gate on the drive. Complicated but my drive is used as a turning circle as it's a narrow road. It's in my deeds I have to leave access so blocking it off isn't an option.

We get a lot of dog walkers. I have no idea who it is. And I can't see it from the house. I would have to either sit in the car or stand up in my bedroom (but would take forever to get downstairs)

Dash cam is a good idea thanks. We already have cctv but it's a) fake and b) pointing over the rest of the drive.

Motion activated camera, you can pick them up for around £25, then once you've caught the sneaky shitter forward the footage to the dog warden at the council.

Sorry technical inept here. What's the best WiFi movement camera?!? I'm on amazon but I'm losing my mind slightly.
Thank you all for helping
