I’ve just woken up and I have a huge, painful sty on my eye! I have a job interview in 2 hours. Any quick remedies to reduce it?? I’ve had a hot compress on it but it’s just bigger and redder Sad I’m worried about putting makeup on it but I can’t go to a job interview without makeup. Please help!

The best thing to now is leave it alone. You’re right about make up. I’d put foundation, blusher and lipstick on but leave the eye make up.

Really good luck. Flowers

Rub gold on it, works every time!
Dnt ask how it just does.
Good luck with interview Grin

I’ve had a cabbage leaf on it for the past half an hour Grin just to appease the Russian in me! It’s so ugly. Why do these things happen?!

SM always says to use a cold (used) teabag as a compress but I think it just relieves the uncomfortable feelings.

They can be caused by using old makeup/not cleaning your make up off properly/ touching your eyes with unwashed hands

Oh no! Mum used to swear by rubbing her gold wedding band along it. Always seemed to work.
Careful what you do though you don’t want to look like you’ve gone a round with Mike Tyson Wink
Perhaps a little mascara on the ends of lashes just to enhance and make sure your eyelid gets a sweep of powder, it’ll just give a more ‘polished’ appearance without going full war paint Smile and good luck!

Pop a couple of clean spoons in the freezer. Apply them to the eye just before you go in - it will help with the swelling.

Minor make up on the area if really necessary. Use clean fingers and not brushes to apply, as you'll have to disinfect them afterwards.

Good luck!

Hot compress was the only thing that shifted my styes when i used to get them, but i am not sure it would work in time. I certainly wouldn't be putting any make up on it, just do what you would normally do and leave your eyes alone. As long as the rest of you looks smart and well turned out, that should be enough, and good luck today with your interview.
