Some of the council houses on our street are being re-fitted at the moment. When my neighbour went out, the workmen spent their lunch launching missiles down the street with an enourmous, elastic sling-shot from her front-garden! Laughing and going 'woooo' as they tried to hit the trees on the traffic island.
They seem to spend allot of time trailing through all the houses they are working on on the street, texting, smoking, hanging out and chatting and generally taking ages to do anything. My neighbour says that she's no longer going out while they are there because they seem to stop working when she's not about. It's taken them weeks and weeks to work their way up the street and now I can see why.
It just bugs me how much council tax we pay to see workmen behaving like that while the families are living in mess for days and days.
Should I tell my neighbour or just put it down to bad management and a bit of sillyness at lunchtime?
