Bought cardigan half price in the M&S sale. Purchased online. They delivered the wrong colour. No longer available in the colour I wanted. M&S sent me email requesting feedback for my purchase. Obviously I wasn't happy and scored 1 star (would have been no stars if I could). Received email today advising they cannot publish my review as the 'moderator' did not feel they could publish my review in which I mentioned 'poor' service. Am I unreasonable to think that they should have published my opinion and only publish the 'good' reviews?

Yes, the 5 star views are just as bad “I haven’t used it yet, but it arrived quickly and was well packed” Hmm

And the questions..

“Is this bulb dimmable?”

“Sorry, I have no idea”

Then why post, you nincompoop!

SorryAuntLydia · 15/01/2020 11:19

@Plumbus
hysterical eh? Everyday sexism at its best.

Plumbus · 15/01/2020 13:04

@SorryAuntLydia

Seriously!? Not sure if you're trolling, projecting or just or being wilfully obtuse.

OP gives a 'service' review instead of a product review - it reasonably gets pulled.

A man gives a totally reasonable product review on some pants - it gets published.

You seem to shit yourself that M&S is sexist because they published a man's product review (and not the OP's service review) BECAUSE MAN.

Given your (ahem) interesting contributions to MN Talk since the NY this is a little rich coming from you. But feel free to report me if you wish.
And have a Biscuit for your troubles.

Everyday sexism at its best.

PMSL. It really has nothing to do with sexism. You can't seriously think that it does!

Plumbus · 15/01/2020 14:19

@SorryAuntLydia
I don't believe poor reading comprehension and jumping to unfounded conclusions is a reportable offence.

SorryAuntLydia · 15/01/2020 14:36

@SoupDragon
@Plumbus

Everyday sexism is a reference to calling me hysterical not to M and S failing to publish the OP’s review.

poor reading comprehension pot kettle black Grin

SoupDragon · 15/01/2020 14:44

Oh, that tedious old chestnut.

2monstermash · 15/01/2020 14:47

I agree that your review is completely irrelevant. It's not a review of the cardigan, it's a complaint about their customer service.

It's like when people leave amazon reviews "it's a birthday present so I haven't used it".. they why the hell are you reviewing it?!

potter5 · 15/01/2020 15:14

Happy to join your boycott re changing rooms. I definitely wouldn't use them.

Perhaps they should also have a section on the customer service received but they don't.

@potter5
Good for you.
And if I order something online I personally find it helpful to know if the company will actually deliver the product I order. So in my opinion your review was entirely legitimate.
But it’s pretty clear M and S aren’t really interested in women’s opinions. So I guess the boycott continues.

isabellerossignol · 15/01/2020 15:38

But how does it relate to the actual product? I agree that it's helpful to know if customer service is good but when you get a request for a review of a particular item and you review the customer service instead then it's not a factual review surely?

misspiggy19 · 15/01/2020 15:41

**YABU

You commented on what was a picking/ packing error not the quality of the item.**

Geminijes · 15/01/2020 15:50

I hate reviews on an item that is all about the customer service. When I read a review I want it to tell me something about the product not the service.
Generally, I know if a shop offers good customer service, I also know that customer service can vary from person to person.
By all means, complain about the service but not in a review about items.

Wynturphelle · 15/01/2020 15:53

The review is not about the garment. The mix up with the colour of cardigan sent was nothing to do with the quality/fit. I think it would be misleading to add a 1 star review to the site. The same way it would be wrong to add a 5 star review if the customer service team had offered you a free cardie in the right colour and you were basing your review only on this.

brassbrass · 15/01/2020 16:03

It definitely didn't match the colour on the website

But this is about the cardigan. 1 star because it wasn't the colour the OP thought she would be getting.

Cheeseandwin5 · 15/01/2020 16:32

I would tweet/FB/any other social media your review and their response.
It makes a mockery of the scoring system if you can only give positive reviews.

Cheeseandwin5 · 15/01/2020 16:35

@misspiggy19
No the review was on the purchase
This would have included cost. quality, delivery and service.

myself2020 · 15/01/2020 16:41

@SorryAuntLydia i fail to understand what is so bad about a man reviewing underwear he is wearing. many men wear things, some prefer the fit (and cost!) of women’s, just like some women prefer men’s boxers.
the only cesspit is in your mind (your imagination is rather dirty)

74NewStreet · 15/01/2020 16:51

Nobody needs to hear what men think of the cut and fit of women’s knickers, it’s not useful information in any way. He himself made much of it not being designed for what he was putting into it (🤢 No shit!), for reasons I’d rather not dwell on...
Again; something we were well aware of before his oh so helpful input.
Would my review of how comfortable a jockstrap felt be of any benefit to anyone?

Highonpotandused · 15/01/2020 16:54

1 star is harsh. Did they offer to fix the issue with a refund on return of item?

Bakedbrie · 15/01/2020 17:02

Yes I’ve had this from QVC. It sucks.

myself2020 · 15/01/2020 17:09

@74NewStreet its not useful for a woman. very useful for a man (same the other way round)
