Just bought the IKEA lack coffee table white, and this is the front bit, I don't understand why it's like this? It's suppose to be white?? am I missing something?

Isnt that the underneath of the table? It's the top that's white. The holes in the corners show its the underneath.

Is there a protective film on it maybe?

That's the underneath bit, but I don't understand why it's black and white? Thought it was some kind of sticker first

It’s just cheap wood pulpy stuff and they don’t put the veneer stuff on the bottom to save money, the bottom isn’t visible

Protective film I also think, sometimes they can be tricky to peel, try a sharp pointed knife and picking it rather than peeking from an edge

I've decided to just keep it anyway, can't be arsed to return, I don't know if I like it yet
I think I'm just going to put it in my balcony when it's summer ( I was going to buy table and chairs for the balcony anyway) and buy a new white coffee table.. it's only £17
