A thread I've been on today about a financially abusive relationship just got me thinking. Poor woman thought she was going mad and got some really good advice from ladies on here.
I was married to an abusive man for 10 years and chose to ignore all of the warning signs as I thought my family would be ashamed of me getting a divorce, and he had me thinking that this was how a normal relationship should be. Even now, 9 years on, he has no understanding of why I left him.
Anyhow, it just got me thinking that if I'd discovered this site years ago I wouldn't have stayed married for so long. How many of you have got out of a bad relationship because of the advice you received on here?
