AIBU to hide the DC's artwork?

The craft they made and swore they'd play with but has been sat on my sideboard since November?
I've hidden it in the attic. What's a reasonable amount of time to keep it before chucking it, assuming they don't notice it's gone?

I usually put it away for a couple weeks or so then chuck it. Just incase they notice lol

I use to take photos of it, just for a reminder then throw it in the bin. Otherwise we'd have been swamped with five legged clay 'elephants' and swirls of paint that are 'mummy, daddy and me'.

Even then, it tended to be out of sight, out of mind, never to be thought about from thence onwards.
