Sun Holiday Help Please!

Sorry posting in AIBU for traffic!

We've booked a premier plus holiday to a 'Parks Holiday' site for April. Trouble is we don't know what this equates to as Park Holidays have don't have 'premier plus'. Their caravans are go from bronze to platinum.

Has anyone booked with the sun holidays and gone to a Park Holidays site? What caravan will we be getting?

Thanks

No way of knowing normally, but if u ring the park direct, u can normally get an upgrade really cheap

Cao77 · 12/01/2020 23:20

Snap, we've booked the same (premier plus) for a sun break in May with Park holidays and I haven't a clue?? Normally a faithful Haven visitor, but nothing available for the dates we wanted, so watching this thread with interest.

Tamponphobia · 12/01/2020 23:44

Okay! Thanks, I'll give them a ring in the morning.
Same @ceo77! Nothing really available in school holidays! Sad

Ah, glad it wasn't just me struggling to find something (however for the May school holiday week) at 6am this morning!!...I really thought we were going to end up with nothing 😯 Out of interest @tamponphobia, which park did you get? We are off to Broadlands in Lowestoft, however had my heart set on Haven Hopton 😞

Tamponphobia · 13/01/2020 00:07

We went for Harts in Kent. I didn't realise it opened today! I had my heart set on Cornwall or Devon. There was a couple of Pontyns left but they have dire reviews

Never ever will I go to Pontins after a previous very bad experience! That's mainly what kept coming up for us this morning when I was frantically searching for an alternative 😯 Ah well a new experience for us both then with Park holidays. Hope you have a lovely break in April 😉

Booboooo · 13/01/2020 00:29

I couldn't book anything for easter or may week off school. Being going on sun holidays for the last 5 years. Really disappointed this yearSad

Cao77 · 13/01/2020 13:36

Just a quick update, I've just phoned Park holidays who advised me that Premier Plus accommodation is equivalent to Gold, with linen included and a 2pm (rather than 3pm) check in. Hope this helps @tamponphobia 👍

LtJudyHopps · 13/01/2020 13:39

Cao77 I stayed at hopton last year wouldn’t recommend it. Caister and seashore are both better!

Tamponphobia · 13/01/2020 14:20

Hi @Cao77

Brilliant thank you so much! Feel much better now. DH thought it was bronze with early check in early! Glad it's gold!

Your welcome @tamponphobia 😉 we are happy here too, wasn't expecting linen so that's a bonus 👍

aimslou · 13/01/2020 14:56

Can you all help me with how the sun holidays work? Do they work out cheaper? And have you all already booked for the vouchers currently in the sun? Thank you

Cao77 · 13/01/2020 18:26

@aimslou

Yes, they work out very much cheaper especially during half term weeks. You need to collect 10 tokens or Sunsavers codes from the sun newspaper each day.

If you have codes you can book online (online booking opened yesterday) or if you collect tokens you can apply by post.

You'll need a choice of 4 holiday parks and dates (but need to be open to taking anything you can get, like we had to yesterday)

I'd say if you haven't collected the codes by now you would struggle to book for this round of holidays, however there is usually another chance to collect the papers and book later in the year.

Hope this helps 😉

WillowB · 13/01/2020 18:29

The codes are online here;

We booked butlins last night

aimslou · 13/01/2020 18:42

Thanks so much for your help 😊 x

aimslou · 13/01/2020 19:04

Just having a look online now. With the haven ones do you have to pay for the park passes when you are there or are they included in the total price?

OneForMeToo · 13/01/2020 19:29

Sometimes it’s still actually cheaper to book direct. The time of the year mean it’s low priced anyway. Depending on accommodation you can end up paying extra for bedding/passes and other charges ontop of the original £9.99/£15 per person holidays.

WillowB · 13/01/2020 21:56

@aimslou the entertainment passes are usually extra and charged PP

aimslou · 14/01/2020 09:20

Ok thanks again, I will look direct on haven then to see which one is cheaper 😊
