Went to emergency dentist yesterday and I have an infection that's touching my nerve. I need a root canal which I will sort tomorrow. Antibiotics for now.

I'm taking ibuprofen and co codamol but they're not touching the sides, and they're the only painkillers I have. Any home remedies / old wives tales to ease my suffering?

Those disgusting tasting numbing sore throat pastilles are great for wisdom tooth infection. I can't remember the name but they're aniseed flavour (boak!) and you can get them in the chemist.

These. They're gross but they work.

6 co codamol and a bottle of Jack d.

I, unknown to me for years as I never went to the dentist for years, had some kind of infection that ate away the bone around a tooth. The above is the only thing that would touch it. Obviously I don't actually recommend this, see a dentist!

@OlaEliza, that's just made me wince! I'm glad I'm going now

Whiskey. You don't even need to drink it, just swish it around.
