To wonder why everyone has to shout everything all the time

Why does everyone have to talk as if they have swallowed a loud hailer?
Is this another thing we've imported from US TV and Films, sorry movies?

In which context do you mean? Just people generally? It’s not something I’ve noticed personally, some people are a bit louder than others and some are a bit quieter.

I find myself (in my head) saying shut the fuck up on a daily basis, but then i also think people talk too much as well!!

Normal discourse seems to be conducted at ear-spliting volume quite often for no good reason.
There are an awful lot of shouty people on telly - shouting stuff that they could just be saying in a normal voice, also adverts and even programme trailers.
