To tell you my baby loves me?

Just that really, I took my 8 month old swimming today, after a two month break. Turns out the pool has become quite frightening to her in that time. Instead of crying or screaming, she wrapped her arms and legs around me, like a little koala, and buried her head in my chest. After a 10 minute cuddle she was ready to splash away.

And I was hit with such a distinct wave of, "Oh my god she loves me!"

Of course I never thought she didn't, but I have definitely thought,
"Wow she loves milk."
"She loves silly faces."
"Yep, she loves ewan the sheep."

This was the first time I thought, she loves ME

Hope you don't mind me sharing, I'd love to hear your happy baby stories. I'm off for a cuddle. Grin

I'm a FTM to a 4 month old and I only very recently experienced this feeling. We were on a windy walk with bubba in an inward facing carrier and he snuggled into my chest and fell asleep. He's fallen asleep on me lots of times before, probably multiple times a day since he was born, but this time really struck me and I thought "How lovely that he feels so secure with his mama to just fall asleep on my chest while I'm walking around".

I always remember my boy being startled by a siren going past the house just after he learned to walk. I was kneeling down on the floor & he was a couple of feet away and the look of horror on his face as he flew towards me terrified & flung his tiny arms around me and cuddled in. That was my wee moment 🙂

This is such a lovely thread.
I wrote in a diary so I would never forget the week before his 2nd birthday dd3 said 'love you mumma'. I cried so much. He is such a cuddly, loving boy and I will always cherish hearing those words!

Ds loves to play fight knowing I will always wrap my arms around him to give him the biggest hug while he pretends to struggle Grin

My friend sent me a meme a few years ago it was of a women lying in the surf on her front and his son lying on her legs tucked in to the caption was you will never feel as loved - I thought yes that true I’ve never felt as loved as I do by ds Smile

how lovely! I'm jealous! mine at 23 won't come anywhere near for a cuddle, enjoy while it lasts! What i'd give to go back in time for 24hrs, I loved the 8mth stage.
