Booking summer hols- going camping in the uk but also having 4 days in a hotel in France as a mini break to get some sun. The Uk Camping is very cheap - we have found a apartment-hotel in the south of France with a pool- looks really lovely & flights are cheap. Hotel is £750 for 4 nights - it feels very extravagant because all our holidays for the last 10 years have been camping- aibu to think it’s expensive? It’s a treat for us...

If you camp, then why not go eurocamp or Canvas and go on a site in one of their tents. I don't mean the expensive safari ones but the normal old fashioned canvas ones. You'd be fine and i think you could get a week for the same price.

It is expensive. This is probably why people on decent incomes say they can't afford a holiday.
