Is it wrong of me to ask a friend of my ex (who I know too) to collect the last of his belongings to give to him?

I can't face seeing him and don't want any contact but want them gone and I can't just throw them away?

Thank you! I'm worried he will have a go at me for getting people involved but I honestly can't face seeing him, I've just about pulled myself together.
