Nursery place

I’m 16 weeks pregnant and put name down at the nursery my son attends and was told no places! I feel so upset. Has anyone else had to send a sibling to a different nursery? Doesn’t seem right.

Have you got your name on a waiting list? I'm sure a place will come up.

Could the younger one go to a child minder until a space at the nursery is available?

By the time you want a place everything may have changed.

They couldn't hold one for you anyway, you are only 16 weeks pregnant and keeping a space for an unborn child would be ludicrous.

Having a sibling at a nursery is often meaningless because it is voluntary attendance.

Put your child down on the waiting list. You’re only 16 weeks pregnant so don’t need the spot currently and it’s extremely likely that a spot will become available once your child has arrived. If the nursery offers you a place to commence when you’re on maternity leave (even if you don’t yet require it), you will probably have to accept it or go back to the bottom of the waiting list.

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

Yes they’ve took deposits already from other pregnant mums. They can accept currently for 3 months after MAT leave but then would need leave as full after that? Feel gutted as my son is there and loves it.

I had to book DS's place while I was pregnant and to be honest it's looming over me. I know it needed done. Get on the waiting list, hopefully a space will come up.
