basically organised a charity do going to be in the local paper and stuff if we raise a nice amount for a local preschool

tickets are not dear
first drink and a buffet included proper ladies night /girls night out

a cabaret/singer including a couple of ladies entertainers (strippers)
one is very flexible and a member of national troupe like the chippendales but
all the people who said they could come now can't gutted
not all of course but such a lot have let me down at the last minute I am pushing flyers in lots of doors and will have to stand outside Morrisons or tescos for eight hours to try and get the numbers up!!!or I will be out of pocket never mind anything for the pre school

I hope you cover your costs and make some money.

It's a PITA but some people misguidedly seem to think it is rude to say that they are not interested in attending and won't be coming, so they make polite noises about being keen to join in when really they never had any such intention

SNOWBall4girlz · 29/08/2007 00:15

I find the ones that look over pleased that they are away /out cant come more annoying as if I was going to torture them instaed of trying to get them come on a fun night lol

I have advertised it in meet ups not sure if allowed but desperate measures etc!!

SNOWBall4girlz · 01/09/2007 10:32

well

managed to get a bit more interest by just walking about the local shops asking people and giving out leaflets and stuff whch was fab a few turned up but the people who I was relying on who were all up for it right up to the the day before didnt even turn up

the night was brilliant but we did not make any money for charity infact I am personally over £200 pounds out of pocket

bloody people I cannot even tell my DH as he will just say told you so
should have done it this way
should have done that

Feel like crying but the actual night was really good will post some pics later --if we had made money was going to be in the paper and everything

I had it in every hairdressers butty shop in a 3 mile radius just what do you have to do to motivate people I just feel a little sick now

rant over !!

I am so sorry you lost money and I just want to say to give yourself credit for doing such a good job

Well done

lulumama · 01/09/2007 10:43

that is such a shame....

how much were tickets?

if i may be so bold, perhaps the choice of entertainment was off putting? and people didn;t want to say. I would never go to an evening that included male strippers as part of the repertoire....

but it is incredibly frustrating not to mention disheartening, especially when you are out of pocket too

how did that happen? did you pay for the venue yourself?

people who I considered dead certs did not tun up
will try it again in november a friend of my mums daugher works in asda said alot of he girls would of come may be do it again--the strippers were more cabaret than anything else they charged £4 a photo and did not offer me anything for the charity despite me asking nicely lol

out of pocket because the whole caboodle cost £500 but did not sell enough tickets to cover this plus paid for printing and the buffet

went back today to the charity they were very unsympathetic bt then only one member of staff turned up who had a fab time btw
