To eat crisps on the train?

Currently on long train journey. Quite hungry and have one of those mini tubs of Pringles in my bag. I really want to eat it but am self conscious about crunching on this eerily quiet carriage. I don’t eat unattractively but crisps are unavoidably crunchy (although sound so much louder in your head), unless you suck them for a while first. Pringles in tub so no rustling, and ready salted so no smell if that sways your answer?

There’s two people sat at a table across the aisle from me, one with headphones and one without, and somebody in front of me.

Would you be annoyed hearing someone eat crisps on a train? I know that unreasonable activities already include eating anything with an odour, painting/clipping nails, talking loudly and for some reason applying makeup

I’m also bored can you tell

Eat your pringles, even if someone doesn't like it they won't say anything and you'll never see them again anyway

Thymelord · 09/01/2020 18:56

Just eat the crisps!

I would want to murder you. But even people I love eating noisily make me feel that way. Eat your crisps and enjoy! Grin Its so not unreasonable to eat non smelly stuff.

Unusualsuspicion · 09/01/2020 18:58

It's dinner time! You could be eating a chicken casserole and it wouldn't be unreasonable. Long distance train means people eating at mealtimes - don't like it, then go by car!

TulipCat · 09/01/2020 18:58

Pringles are a lot more dainty to eat then most other crisps. Crack on!

Thymelord · 09/01/2020 18:58

In fact I've just seen they're ready salted so no, don't eat them, throw them out of the window. Ready salted? I mean come on, why bother, just have a raw potato Grin

The only time I’d say no is if they were really stinky.
Once on a packed train this man and I assume his son were watching power rangers on a laptop, sound all the way up and munching beef crisps which stank. We all tutted and shook our heads in the stereotypical British way for 2 hours.

It’d be a pleasant change from shrieking babies, prats taking loud “I’M ON THE TRAIN” phone calls, people watching action movies on their iPads and similar. All in the quiet coach, which I take it you’re not even in.

I say let the munching commence.

NoCleanClothes · 09/01/2020 18:59

I hate people eating crisps it gives me the rage. I wouldn't expect you to starve though (and I always carry headphones to protect my sanity!).

Pipandmum · 09/01/2020 18:59

Ok this is when you have to think for yourself.

Tombliwho · 09/01/2020 18:59

Eat your pringles!

honeyytoast · 09/01/2020 19:04

Thank you everyone, the crunching begins 😂😂

@Thymelord to be honest it’s the taste of salt I’m after

I've boshed a Burger King on the train before - don't worry!
