Pink discharge at 6 weeks pregnant

Hi guys, I'm currently 6+3 weeks pregnant and two days ago I had pink discharge which stopped but I had it again this morning which again has now stopped and I can't think of any possible reason why it might be happening, but I'm wondering if this is at all normal and if anyone else has experienced it?

It can go either way. One of my miscarriages started with pink mucus which eventually turned into red bleeding at around 5 weeks. One of my missed miscarriages started with brown discharge a few weeks after the heart had actually stopped, no other symptoms of miscarriage at all.

Equally I have had pink discharge in two successful pregnancies, it was most likely implantation or irritation after sex. It can go either way with any spotting during early pregnancy. Just keep an eye on it and if it turns red or you start cramping, contact your GP.

Try not to panic, as pp said, this can be normal. It could be worth speaking to your GP, but they can't really see anything on a scan until 8 weeks x

Hiya I had this from around 6 weeks pregnant until 16 weeks pregnant am now 23 weeks, midwife says its normal for some women to spot during pregnancy, please try not to worry easier said than done but believe me I have had it in all 4 pregnancies and everything was fine. X

I had pink discharge with both a MMC and with my current pregnancy (18 weeks and all is well so far).

My sister also has had it through four successful pregnancies, so not always a cause for concern and for some women is quite normal.

I wouldn't over panic, just keep an eye on it and if you're concerned ring your early pregnancy unit, they're usually really helpful.

I did this for my current pregnancy and saw the heartbeat at 5 weeks 6 days, which was very reassuring.

Thanks everyone, I'm going to my emergency gynaecology department today as I called up with my symptoms and she said come in. Will keep you all posted

Good luck. I had pink discharge at around 6 weeks and now have a 3 year old DS. It wasn't even a UTI. No idea what it was but they just classed it as a pregnancy symptom. I panicked at the time though and went and got seen. You're doing the right thing

I had this at 6 weeks. He's now 3 months old and wriggling on my knee as I type this. The GP told me it was literally 50/50. See whether you can get an early scan. I remember how stressed I was x

I had it a few times in a successful pregnancy. Hope all is OK, I know how scary it is to see it.

I had a massive fresh red bleed with my first pregnancy at 10 weeks and he is 3 years old and playing with lego beside me. Bled from 10 to 16 weeks, haematoma found during ultrasound which eventually absorbed.

I had pink discharge at 6-7 weeks with this pregnancy. I called 111 at the time, they weren't sure if it was irritation of cervix from sex 2 days prior or whether it was bleeding around the time my period would have been. They weren't concerned and just said to call back if it got red/I had cramps. Hes 38 weeks now and ready to come out soon.

I had a moderate amount of pink spotting at 6+5 and 6+6. I had an internal scan which revealed that the baby was absolutely fine with a heartbeat flickering away. There was no obvious cause of the bleeding whatsoever, they said it was likely to be implantation bleeding (even though implantation occurred several weeks prior....). Its not 'normal' to bleed but it is very very common. Im now 10weeks and have had a few more spotting incidents of brown blood, but I've had more scans and everything is still developing normally so far!
Im glad you are getting seen today, fingers crossed for you.

Okay guys, I've been and had blood tests and a scan and everything appears to be fine! No bleed to be seen and definitely growing in the right place, Infection has also been ruled out! Nurse had a look at my cervix and saw a tiny steak of blood but was not concerned. I'm just over 6 weeks as I thought. Still no actual explanation but everything seems to be as it should be so I can breathe now x
