I’m currently looking to have private therapy. I’ve come across a lady when searching that used to work with me when I was under camhs about six years ago. I’m diagnosed with asd and she is one of the only mental health professionals that seemed to understand it. She gave the diagnoses. It seems particularly in adult mental health these a lack of understanding about asd. Aibu to consider seeing her as she had a good understanding of asd so might be more likely to be able to help with the mental health conditions I suffer from.

If she's someone you trust and can talk to them I think it would definitely be worth giving it a go. Hope or works out for you.

When you say she used to work with you - do You mean as a colleague ?
If so then no I wouldn’t want her as a therapist . Too many boundary issues for her .

Thank you for responding. No she was part of my camhs team that used to look after me. I never did any direct therapy with her though.
