People who say they are fat when they're not

Has anyone else seen this on social media - somebody takes selfie showing their body with caption such as "time to get rid of this belly" or something along the lines of.

Somebody I follow has just done this, except she's not fat at all, the very opposite. She actually had lipo and other work done to her body and everyone always comments about how amazing she looks. She's actually paid thousands of pounds to look skinny.

Why do people do this? Is it an attention thing?

It really gets my goat when ‘bigger’ women tell me I shouldn’t be eating healthy/going to the gym because ‘there’s nothing to me’ etc.

I’m shortish (5’3) and a size 10. In clothes I look fine. Nobody would think I’m fat. Slim in fact. But the naked reality is different. I am soft and have wobbly bits and I struggle with cellulite. I’ve always struggled with certain parts of my body. It’s my body composition that I want to change eg more muscle less fat but it’s fair easier just to say I’m watching my weight. Cue the above comments.

That said I wouldn’t post on social media about it and I only say it when I’m in that type of conversation.

Skinny fat is a thing!

reminds me of being at school the girls who would be like "i only just scrapped an A, that's rubbish. Oh but you got a B well done"...attention seeking
