To ask where people buy baby things now that mothercare is gone?

All of the mothercares near me have closed down and now their website is also gone.
I’m expecting a baby in may so need to start shopping soonish but wondering where people actually buy their baby stuff from? With my first I had two mothercares within 1 mile of me so everything came from there (feeding, pushchair, play mat etc) but now I’ve only got a mamas and papas and TBH it’s a bit expensive to get everything in there. Clothes are fine as I can get them from places like next, sainsburys, Asda etc but if I were to actually want to shop for my bits rather than just amazon it where would I go?

I went to a mother care baby event whilst pregnant with dd. I got great money off vouchers and managed to get £200 off my travel system and money off my steriliser. I wanted to try different prams, have a go at folding them on my own and seeing how compact they were, how big the basket was etc. Staff at my local Mothercare were lovely and experienced, newer staff with less product knowledge manned the tills. I bought all the big items there as they were cheaper than mamas and papas. It also meant I didn't need to traipse around looking for things at various different shops. I am currently pregnant with my 3rd and need a few bits but am happy to check Boots and online for those. I wouldn't purchase a pram online without having had a look at it in person.

You can now shop the range of mothercare products currently at Boots here: Mothercare Sale at the moment they have launched a huge summer sale on baby clothing Smile

Mothercare always seemed overpriced and poor value. I’m not surprised it went bust. If JL out of budget then IKEA good. I always avoid Amazon and small companies/direct from supplier seems sensible.
