Was washing my mug in the work kitchen and in walks bloke post lunch.
He bins his rubbish then washes his hands, uses wet hands to wipe mouth and then dries hands AND mouth on the dish towel 😏

Am I being precious or is that gross?

That's gross.

Aroundnabout1 · 03/01/2020 13:15

Candyapple49 · 03/01/2020 13:19

Sexnotgender · 03/01/2020 13:19

Nasty. Were there paper handtowels available. Maybe teatowels are not appropriate anyway. Can they supply paper towel instead.

Sexnotgender · 03/01/2020 13:27

No paper hand towels in the kitchen but the bathroom is right next door and has paper towels.

The office is very small (

Ewwwwwwww

I avoid using the communal tea towel to dry my crockery/utensils let alone touch my face with it 🤮

Aibuornotoop · 03/01/2020 14:23

The person who said YABU is probably as vile as your colleague...either that or they accidentally pressed the wrong button without realising!

In fairness the towels are very clean and replaced daily.

Ew but more ew for his sake than anything else 🤮

CarolinaPink · 03/01/2020 14:27

Gross. Caught a bloke at work doing this once, years ago. Turned my stomach :(

RandomMess · 03/01/2020 14:34

@Sexnotgender send them to work that will cure them 😂

ISawNessie · 03/01/2020 15:30

YANBU at all. My dad in law does this & seems to think it’s ok to do so 😷😷

WeeSleekitTimerousMoosey · 03/01/2020 15:34

It's a kind of weird thing to do. Was it just kind of absent minded like he forgot where he was?

I'd find it odd, though given I've been kissing colleagues and customers all day (first day back) I'm probably spreading more germs than he ever will!

NearlyGranny · 03/01/2020 16:01

Ah, but people can dodge your kiss if they want to! Unless you'd seen this guy, you wouldn't know he was leaving everyone a thriving germ colony.

His behaviour is indeed gross. Even in his own home it would be, unless he lives alone. Did you challenge him? As in, "Ew, Trevor - you just wiped you mouth on the handtowel! Way to spread germs.

Sexnotgender · 03/01/2020 16:40

No I didn’t challenge him, he’s my boss.

Bosses have germs like the rest of us - and he has more reason to want everyone healthy than anyone else, I'd have thought.

If you feel reluctant to challenge him, why not recruit a post-menopausal woman if you have one among your colleagues? We're the group that is least afraid to challenge stuff like this. Though me challenging DH for doing this in our kitchen at home has had zero result on his behaviour. 😒

Or you could ask Trevor to install a paper towel dispenser in the kitchen.
