I already know the answer to this really, because I either only display these items when my aunt visits, OR I look like the craziest narcissist this side of “I love myself town”.

My aunt is a beautiful and generous woman, and I love her. She buys me lots of thoughtful gifts at Christmas because she loves to do it, and I am grateful. She also loves to spend time making sure her gifts are personal, but MN, OH MN, this year has been spectacular....

I am 40 years old, I live with my DS who is 9. And this year my aunt has gone onto my Facebook, specifically my profile pictures and for Christmas I got the following....

1. A full length canvas print of me posing in a dress.
2. A mug with my face on.
3. A travel mug with my face on.
4. not one, BUT TWO cushions each of a close up OF MY FACE.
5. A FULL CALENDER EACH MONTH WITH A DIFFERENT PICTURE OF MY OWN FACE!

Now, who, IN THEIR RIGHT MIND HAS THEIR OWN FACE ON CUSHIONS! IMAGINE WHAT VISITORS WOULD THINK!

It has made me laugh so much, but was not in any way a joke....ahhhhhh families eh?

Mugs in cupboards, cushions on bed, calendar hung on inside of a cupboard door (that’s where mine lives) photo of you is trickier. Could you put it in one of the bedrooms?

Hahahahaha loving you’re replies MN....glad you’re all as amused and baffled as I am, what intrigues me the most is that I have two cats and two dogs and a child....the personalised item would surely be better if it was pics of them? But of course,nowhere near as funny. I will certainly never forget this Christmas.

The poster who said hard to regift made me laugh, maybe I should give these items as gifts to family and friends, that might be even funnier!

Reminds me of when my mum had a mouse mat and mug made for me with my face on and I was horrified 😂 I said said to her "why????"

@DryRoastPeanut this is my thread from January the cushions have stayed in the airing cupboard, the mug has been used, the travel mug I have behind a picture of my son on the kitchen table for loose change, I have ruddy USED the calendar and claimed it ironic, of course lockdown has prevented it being seen anyway lol

natwebb79 also makes me think of the Alan Partridge episode in the 1st series, when he finds himself in crazed superfan Jed's house, and every inch of the living room is covered in Alan pictures and merchandise 🤣

@Puddingypops I was all set to tell you off for opening your presents in NOVEMBER but have RTFT and realised we are on for another treat

I am soooo going to buy face cushions for dd and her bf when they move into their house in the new year...totally the bestest housewarming gift ever...please thank your Aunt for the inspiration.

At least the cushions are better than my school friends mum, who had a massive 8ft by 6ft nude painting of her up in their kitchen. Never knew where to look when I went to their house.

@puddingypops I really hope you have somehow matched your aunt's present with your own gift to her this year? Perhaps one of those portraits you can get commissioned of her as a grand 18th century lady or similar?

@Girlwhowearsglasses I have bought my aunty the naffest t shirt you’ve ever seen, you know when those adds come up on Facebook and you think “who buys that s**t, well I think that, and then think of my aunty! So I’ve got her a t shirt with a border collie on with angel wings that says “I believe in angels” (her border collie died 5 years ago. I have also got her and my uncle “lord and lady” titles, it made me laugh, you can legally use the titles (because you buy like 1 inch square of land on the estate) and even change your debits cards and documents hahaha it made me laugh and I think they will get a kick out of it!

My mum bought a cushion with my face on for my then partner 18 years ago. We had decided to separate mid December but didn't tell anyone till the new year. When mum finally found out she said it would be nice for the kids to see a picture of me when they were at their dads weekends. I'm guessing it went in the bin pretty fast
