To hide these items unless she’s visiting....

I already know the answer to this really, because I either only display these items when my aunt visits, OR I look like the craziest narcissist this side of “I love myself town”.

My aunt is a beautiful and generous woman, and I love her. She buys me lots of thoughtful gifts at Christmas because she loves to do it, and I am grateful. She also loves to spend time making sure her gifts are personal, but MN, OH MN, this year has been spectacular....

I am 40 years old, I live with my DS who is 9. And this year my aunt has gone onto my Facebook, specifically my profile pictures and for Christmas I got the following....

1. A full length canvas print of me posing in a dress.
2. A mug with my face on.
3. A travel mug with my face on.
4. not one, BUT TWO cushions each of a close up OF MY FACE.
5. A FULL CALENDER EACH MONTH WITH A DIFFERENT PICTURE OF MY OWN FACE!

Now, who, IN THEIR RIGHT MIND HAS THEIR OWN FACE ON CUSHIONS! IMAGINE WHAT VISITORS WOULD THINK!

It has made me laugh so much, but was not in any way a joke....ahhhhhh families eh?

I thought my DM was bad for getting me a photo mug with my gigantic face on it because I'd complained about a bloke at work who kept using my mug.

It didn't seem to occur to her that

1. I'd look like like I had a giant ego
2. I'm pretty sure the bloke kept stealing my mug on purpose and if he kept it up with my new mug, seeing him drink out of my head would have been unnerving...

Because of you op I have just ordered a cushion for my 12 year old ds as a stocking pressie. Its of me and my identical twin, drunk during first lockdown just after support bubbles were allowed, we were practicing selfies whilst he silently shook his head in despair . Personally I think he will love it!

Loved reading this thread although it reminded me of the narrow escape I had a few years back!

DH’s nan wanted to get us a huge painted canvas of DH, I and our dog to put in our living room. There were 2 catches:

1. We would have to sit still for hours while it was done. Yeah you try getting our dog to sit still for that long!

1. It would be painted by her friend. Her friend who was NOT an artist. Just an elderly old lady who had done a few paint by numbers to pass the time due to boredom.

I absolutely aspire to be your aunt one day - I hope she knows how horrendously awful those gifts are and has a right giggle to herself when she comes round - knowing that you only put them out for her.

I’d randomly hide them in the house and tell your DS your watching him.

We have a hideous fish plate in my family (2 sisters and mum) that gets hidden in each other’s houses when we visit each other, posted to each other in birthday or Xmas gifts.
It’s become a family challenge to see if you can get it displayed in each other houses somewhere and get home without them noticing.

Here I am with the latest report but happily/sadly nothing with my own face on this year!

HOWEVER

where last year my aunty had obviously discovered photo box, THIS YEAR she has found another more interesting website. I couldn’t quite believe my eyes.

Before I list my gift haul from my favourite aunt I must state that she doesn’t swear, hardly EVER, so what went through her mind I really can’t say. So this year I got the following...

One packet of jelly babies with massive erections.
One packet of jelly boobs.
One mug that says CUNT in bold letters
It’s companion mug that says DICK
Two candles one that says KNOB CHEESE and one that says SWEATY MINGE!!!!!

WTAF!!!! I opened these gifts in front of my 11 year old SON!!!!!!

I can only conclude that lockdown has made her lose her mind and I find myself wishing for a calendar of entirely my own face.

I have thrown away the jelly sweets because I didn’t want the dogs getting them and I tried one and were rancid lol, the mugs are upstairs because amazingly I’ve been using them, but I won’t for long hahaha but for now here are the candles, I’ll take a pic of the mugs tomorrow
