Snidey ‘hangover cures’

I know MN is funny about drinking so expecting a flaming for this one but whatever.
Saw a post in a group I’m in on Facebook wishing everyone a happy new year and asking for hangover cures for all those who were feeling a bit fragile. Over 3/4 of the replies were people saying “don’t drink” and saying how they haven’t drunk in however long.
AIBU to think this isn’t what the post was asking and actually it’s just a bit snidey? Like I don’t care if you haven’t drunk in 22 years Janet, I feel like my whole world is gonna fall out my bum because I celebrated New Years with a bottle (or two) of wine and that’s what I wanted to do.

Technically, they're wrong. Not drinking isn't a cure since you need to drink in order to get a hangover

Half a lager.

🤷🏼‍♀️

Hangover shag is essential here. Beer Fear makes me so needy I have to have sex to make it go away a bit. And then a hot shower, wash and dry my hair and loads of cups of tea. A Chinese later.

Salt, sugar and caffeine.

@Mencken, as well as being one of the most miserable souls that I've ever encountered, you are also very wrong.
Of course there are things you can do to alleviate hangover symptoms! Liquid rehydrates you, sugar gives you a boost (and rebalances you as alcohol lowers your blood sugar). Food helps to settle your stomach to prevent sickness (and different people have different preferences on what food does this for them) Paracetamol will cure a headache. Caffeine will give an energy boost. Sleep generally helps most ailments. And if it's really, really bad, 'hair of the dog' will prevent the shaking, as your body is craving more alcohol.
Yes, a hangover will get better in time, but there are lots of things you can do to make yourself feel better.

The Dominos man has just been, I felt that I could weep with gratitude Xmas Wink

A continuous rotation of KFC/McDonalds/Taco Bell.

I am not hungover, though Wink . I drank so much over Christmas that I simply couldn't cope with any more alcohol.
