Wouldn’t put either Rod Stewart or Benedict Cumberbatch in this category though. Think both are fairly conventional looking.
I think Benedict Cumberbatch is very, er, distinctive looking. Not at all conventional. If he wasn't in the public eye I'm sure he'd receive far less female attention.

Rory Stewart has a very distinctive wide mouth and large teeth but smiles can be very attractive and I do think he's a decent man.

I can see the attraction of Michael Portillo, I can even see the attraction of Jacob Rees-Mogg (in a very Harry Potter way ) but definitely not Cumberbatch.

Love Portillo, like Rory but God not for his looks. Benedict Cumberbatch is truly gruesome. My ugly beautiful is Ron Perlman I know how bad this is.

He's not classically attractive but he is very very charismatic and a good singer.
