About Prozac (Fluoxetine) and Fags?!

I am a big stinky old smoker. I’ve never quit for more than 2 years. I smoke about 6 a day and love every one. Honestly it’s really pathetic

Anyyyyway, I was prescribing Prozac for severe PMT (PMDD)

And within a week; I’ve just stopped being remotely bothered..... I’ve just stopped almost as though I forgot about it. And this is over new year when I’ve been drinking a bit! I’ve also gone off food a bit but I knew about that already

AIBU to think that Prozac has actually turned off the faggy switch in my brain? Anyone else??

I'm very impulsive/compulsive, so eat drink and buy whatever I want, it's become a destructive mind set tbh.

It's worth getting some quick acting NRT (inhalator or spray or whatever - not patches) or a decent strength ecig, just in case you have an impulsive moment, especially if you're likely to visit the pub or other boozy social situation in the near future.

I'm in NI and fag here is not a cigarette we call them fegs or just smokes/cigarettes but I knew as soon as I saw the title they would be referring to cigarettes.

I don't know if the Prozac has had that effect but smoking six a day is hardly an addiction, it's a habit that you have enjoyed. Well done for giving up. I hope you generally feel better soon too.
