We made a biryani, a proper one from scratch. It takes several hours so we don't make it often, but my God it's lush!

Stravapalava · 31/12/2019 21:21

We had a picnic:

Pigs in blankets
Chicken fries
Salad
Savoury eggs
Pork pie
Cucumber sticks
Cheese straws
Carrot sticks
Celery sticks
Cheese & jalapeno bread
Olives
Gherkins
Cheese

We've been picking since 6pm!

VividImagination · 31/12/2019 21:29

We had mini duck spring rolls and a huge Tex Mex platter that were reduced to clear in ASDA followed by Christmas pudding donated by Dsd.

Srirachasauce · 31/12/2019 21:40

Korean Stir fry beef with gochjang paste and baby garlic and brown rice. It was fab.

RhythimIsRhythim · 31/12/2019 21:45

Toasted baguettes, jamon and duck pate.

SillyUnMurphy · 31/12/2019 21:49

DH and I have just had a cheese board, pink gin for me, red wine for him and a Line of Duty marathon. Happy new year all!

thegreylady · 31/12/2019 21:51

I made a beef stroganoff tonight. We had smoked salmon and cream cheese to start and a Lidl roulade for aftershock. It was lovely. I am now tucking into some orange Rennies!

Nixen · 31/12/2019 21:53

We essentially had Christmas dinner all over again but with chicken rather than turkey. Prawn cocktail for starter, chocolate torte for dessert. Now drinking Moscow mules, about to crack open the crisps and dip and got a bottle of Laurent Perrier for the bells

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 31/12/2019 21:56

KFC Grin

We had a late lunch at our local Italian place. I had spaghetti carbonara which I always have and it was delicious. DH had chicken parmigiana with a green salad. Then we both had a coffee meringue ice cream pudding which was yummy. Ds and DD had pasta with a tomato sauce and then strawberry ice cream.

We walked home 3 miles to walk it off. DH had to carry DD half the way!

Tonight DH and I have had olives, cheese, tapenade and crackers, celery, grapes, chutney, and crisps. Just nibbles. Two glasses of sauvignon blanc for me and he has had a couple of his beers and we are ready to go to bed. But 5 m old DS2 is wide awake sitting on DH watching Village of the Damned on tv and shouting at it. It's a bit much when a 5m old is keeping you from your bed at 10pm on New Year's Eve because he has more energy than we do!

Vegerable tempura and sweetcorn cakes. They have to be gluten and dairy free for everyone in the family to be able to eat them and sometimes don't come out well, but I got the mixtures just right today and they were lovely.

We had loads of different veg tempuraed: mushrooms, sweet potato, carrot, potato, onion, baby corn, peppers, broccoli, asparagus, green beans, mange tout and sprouts. I did the sprouts more as a joke but they were actually very nice.

Riddleofthesands · 31/12/2019 21:58

Stir fry with 3 bird leftovers ( turkey, chicken, duck), soo good. English sparkling about to be opened. Happy New Year and good health for 2020!

Oldraver · 31/12/2019 21:59

TheJesusAndMaryChain · 31/12/2019 22:00

MacD's, twiglets and ring donuts 😋

AnnoyingSatsumaInMyStocking · 31/12/2019 22:02

Just back from the cinema (Little Women - excellent) and have a bowl of ‘hand cooked West Country cheddar & red onion chutney crisps’ to pick at.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 31/12/2019 22:10

Cheeseboard here, including a Welsh Rarebit thing from M&S. I have a stinking cold and can’t taste anything, for over a week! On the plus side I have lost 4lb since finishing work for the holidays.

Ikea meatballs and now tucking in to pringles and chocolate orange, proper classy 😁
Healthy eating starts after tomorrow's steak pie or I'll never get into my work trousers on Monday!

vikkimoog · 31/12/2019 22:14

sorry, but that doesn't look appetising at all. Crap cheap garlic bread, no thanks.

bettybattenburg · 31/12/2019 22:15

Reheated pasta because I made some for lunch earlier and didn't finish it.

CrowleysBentley · 31/12/2019 22:16

Party food, some tesco finest, some marks and spencer, and a sausage roll wreath from marks that I ordered with the Christmas food then froze. And cheese.

Sunshineboo · 31/12/2019 22:16

Costco pizza and loads Buck’s Fizz. Cheap but very cheerful

tillytrotter1 · 31/12/2019 22:17

Left-over pate, toast, a satsuma from under the sofa and a slab of cold stuffing. I may force down some sticky toffee pudding soon if I can be bothered to go to the garage for the ice-cream.

tillytrotter1 · 31/12/2019 22:19

Stir fry with 3 bird leftovers ( turkey, chicken, duck), soo good

Why are left-overs almost always better than when they were first cooked? There's a PhD in there somewhere.

macaroniandpizza · 31/12/2019 22:24

Had a meal deal from the chinese: chicken noodle soup, spring rolls and chicken curry and fried rice which was shared between ds and i
