Meant to be going to a fancy dress party tomorrow for new years. The dress code is 80s, most of the other women are doing office work 80s style, blazers shoulder pads etc. For various reasons I wasn't going to go at all so haven't got absolutely anything to wear. Have been shopping today with absolutely no luck. Have work all day tomorrow so can't go shopping again. Is it unreasonable/not okay if I don't dress up?? I literally have nothing in my wardrobe that fits this theme and no access to anyone else's wardrobe at this short notice!!! If IABU any suggestions, what would you wear? I can maybe squeeze an hour or shopping in tomorrow at an absolute push but think a shopping centre with very normal shops!! H&M etc. Help!!!!!

Have you got a body style top that you could wear over leggings and old socks you could cut off for leg warmers, then tie something round your head for a sweatband and go for the 80s workout look? Crimp your hair and do 80s makeup?

Goth. Easy.

Any jumble of black clothing will do at a push. Back combing. Tonna makeup. Sorted

I forget whether it was 70s or 80s but my friend had a similar problem and ended up wearing a cardboard box that he had coloured in to make a Rubik’s cube Grin

Message your friends asking if they have anything. I bet some of them have once worn 80's fancy dress stuff in the back of the wardrobe

Do something 80s with your hair and make up and put some big earrings on and just wear what you’re comfortable in.
