@IncrediblySadToo tbf I do steal his olive face scrub thing - but at least I’m using it for its actual purpose e.g scrubbing my face- rather than using it to exfoliate my fanny wash my hair

@chamenanged - how do you think we got separate en-suites Grin.

loseyourself · 29/12/2019 23:03

hide it OP. (meanwhile in my own selfish universe) can you recommend a product? I paid 4 times the odds for a kerastase shampoo as the hairdresser recommended it to protect against my 'hard water' I bought the fecking thing and I look like the old worzel gummidge. I have very light, flyaway hair that just frizzes out extra with this expensive piece of crap. Throw me a bone, any product at all that works good.

justasking111 · 29/12/2019 23:04

I hide my shaving gel Nivea for my legs and under arms. He has his own shaving gel. He buys three cans at a time, my can lasts months. Guarantee he will pinch mine when his run out and I hide it in my cabinet. Drives me nuts because he never replaces it. We share shampoo he uses his own soap if I caught him using my goats soap one I would kill him.

Newbameforanewdecade · 29/12/2019 23:06

@loseyourself I loved the kerastase but... again if you have the cash - get a brazillian blow dry - will change your life (When I have it done can literally go swimming and get out let it dry... and looks ok - like a dream come true).

@justasking111 oh we even share the razors awaits aghast Mumsnetters it’s literally just my shampoo I’m a bit possessive about

I feel your pain. I caught my DH using my wella shampoo and conditioner yesterday... ON THE DOG

Newbameforanewdecade · 29/12/2019 23:10

@Twiggywinkle13 Grin

Omg that’s the answer - dog has a fancy shampoo and conditioner... will just leave that around for dh (smells lovely too)

Re: The Brazilian blow dry, can I ask how long it lasts? Does it cause any long term damage? Is your hair very very curly or more so wavy? Where do you get it done?
Sorry for all the questions! My hair is a mess, I really need to do something about it in the new year but I’m scared I will end up damaging it and wishing I had my current hair back!

Spartonian · 29/12/2019 23:12

@Newbameforanewdecade which shampoo is it? I have awful hair and could do with finding a good shampoo and conditioner.

Spartonian · 29/12/2019 23:14

@Newbameforanewdecade ignore me, I see you already mentioned it.

Newbameforanewdecade · 29/12/2019 23:20

@PurpleBee39 hair is more wavy than curly - it’s more that it’s frizzy that’s the problem. Never caused damage - but then my hair is very damaged from years of highlights etc.

I’m no hairdresser so not sure how it works on different hair - but it honestly did change my life - they say it last three months but found it more like 5/6. It literally smooths hair out and really made my life easier - quicker to dry, less straightening or smoothing etc.

TigerOnAtrain · 29/12/2019 23:23

@flouncyfanny Just hide YOUR bottle, and put some bayliss and harding in the bathroom.

PurpleBee39 · 29/12/2019 23:23

@Newbameforanewdecade - Thanks so much for this!
I’m 40 next week, feeling very low and crap about myself and maybe this could be my present from DH! Not that he has even asked if I would like anything and he never does surprises!

Newbameforanewdecade · 29/12/2019 23:27

@PurpleBee39 oh honestly it’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. Not sure where you are, I’m in London (so pricey) and have paid between £75 - £130. Someone who does it at home is cheaper - just make sure they have decent reviews. Honestly it’s life changing (know I sound evangelical but those who have smooth or straight lovely hair don’t get how much it can change your life!)

DS(9) uses my fancy shower gel and shampoo.
"But now I can smell you mummy, and I sleep better!"
Manipulate little sod.
I love him really

ontheroses- off topic slightly but does the m&s lemon smell like the l'occitane verbena? When I'm in an airport duty free I plaster myself in the stuff but balk at paying the price.

MyKingdomForBrie · 29/12/2019 23:44

'He just sees bath stuff' bollocks does he, you've asked him not to and he carries on - ergo he doesn't give a shit! Selfish.

justasking111 · 29/12/2019 23:46

@Newbameforanewdecade he would go mad if I used his razor, accuses me of it occasionally when he cuts himself shaving saying I made it blunt. As if I would use his stuff.

We also use different toothpaste, do people share toothpaste??

Newbameforanewdecade · 29/12/2019 23:49

@justasking11 well yes we use the same tooth paste, as did my family as a kid (other than when I had kids ones), but no idea tbg

OP posts:
OhTheRoses · 29/12/2019 23:50

@Hurricane10 - it's pretty good for £3 and similar enough for me, for every day. Give it a go.

sam221 · 29/12/2019 23:52

I have really frizzy hair-which exact shampoo do you buy(sorry completely missing the point of the post!)
Also just hide your shampoo or buy a neon bottle for his bodywash!

Newbameforanewdecade · 29/12/2019 23:55

@sam221 it’s Kerastise - but as I’ve said above - I really do recommend a brazillian blow dry

My DIL bought me some hair tongs for xmas. Amazingly when I tried them they defrizzed my hair. I do not know if that would be bad for it if I did it every day.
