Agree with others, it's about what works for you and we ar all different.
Example,
I do keto. It works for me because I'm a sugar addict and it's what gives me cravings and makes me over eat. I'm not really interested in bread cereal, potatoes, pasta etc.
My friend just did slimming world, it works for her, because she loves things like pasta and rice. I don't like the food she eats, it's all fat free sugar free and tasteless for me, so I couldn't do it.
Another friend calorie counts, she often feels hungry and tracks everything but the control works for her. I don't want to feel hungry and I want to eat when I am. I'm also too lazy to track. So loosing interest in sweet things, works for me. What I do wouldn't work for them.
The only golden rule that applies for everyone is you need to reset your eating habits for life. Yes you can have days or weeks off, special occasions like Christmas, nights out etc, but generally you need to accept you can't go back to eating like you used to consistently, because it's what made you gain weight in the first place.
If you can't do that, and slowly revert to old eating habits, then the weight is coming back on as a guaranteed result.
Loosing weight is only half the battle, keeping it off is the long term effort that always needs to be a key factor when deciding what works for you.
