I will start

Someone who constantly bangs on about politics , especially the ones who make the same points over and over again about Brexit.

OP posts:
burnoutbabe · 30/12/2019 09:00

People who posted"anyone who voted xyz are total beep" after the general election.
Zero realisation that in fact people they claim to be friends with have voted that way. I deleted them to save them from this shocking horror of realising they were actually friends with such people and would be horrified if asked to repeat it to my face.

greenlavender · 30/12/2019 09:03

This is such a good thread!

redcarbluecar · 30/12/2019 09:19

People who post a FB status that actually.only needs to be a message to one person.’John, I found my coat! xoxo’
Happy birthday messages to people who aren’t on FB.
‘Can three of my friends repost this so we know someone is always listening?’
And when people share really obvious scams - ‘we have 60 holidays at Centre Parks to give away, just tell us why you deserve it...’

Most of it does also amuse me though. And I love humblebrags.

Trewser · 30/12/2019 09:22

The political ones
The show off kids ones
The soppy ones

FishCanFly · 30/12/2019 09:23

Sharing photos of presumably kidnapped children in the US.
Sharing photos of terminally ill or disabled children with "if you don't share, then 5 years of bad luck coming"
Sharing gruesome photos from war zones.

JacquesHammer · 30/12/2019 09:25

People who don’t manage their own social media feeds so they only see what they want.

Trewser · 30/12/2019 09:29

Yes the people who add you then don't speak to you in RL! I've unfriended a couple over this.

pointythings · 30/12/2019 09:35

Posts about how things were so much better in the past and would be again if only we brought back corporal punishment in schools, the death penalty, lots more religion everywhere, back to the good old days. And my FB is pretty locked down, so I get this from some of my relatives.

ManonBlackbeak · 30/12/2019 09:36

People who post their political opinions and tell you how they voted in the election and then get all arsey and defensive when someone criticises or calls them for not. Saw a lot of that the other week!

Just keep your beliefs to yourself!

Hobbesmanc · 30/12/2019 09:53

Hahaha- great post.

I hate the ones that announce it's time for a Facebook cull. If you accept loads of random requests then expect not to have high engagement levels. Please cull me first.

Also the virtue signalers who tell you about their good deeds and how they gave a McDonalds to a homeless person. Then the sycophants who post Luv u hun in response

DefConOne · 30/12/2019 09:57

‘This girl’, ‘this boy, ‘these two’ with photo of child/ren doing something really mundane.

Moaning about what a chore elf on the shelf is then posting boring pictures every day.

Bragging about what healthy, old fashioned, outdoorsy kids you are raising then posting about all the tech they got for Christmas (after criticising other parents for same all year).

On school fb page asking when term starts despite helpful people linking to school website term dates.

redcarbluecar · 30/12/2019 09:58

Any status that starts ‘When you...’ or ‘So...’

Mrsjayy · 30/12/2019 10:01

Sharers of paedophile hunters videos are not helping anybody stop it I usually delete them. And those look at this disabled child/teenager bet nobody will post statuses.

Downunderduchess · 30/12/2019 10:02

#whenyouknowyouknow....know what??
#zerofucksgiven.... if you really have zero fucks to give would you even bother saying so?

HowlsMovingBungalow · 30/12/2019 10:08

All of it hence me pulling the plug on FB.

Freesunglasses · 30/12/2019 10:08

'I'm so ugly' followed by 10 selfies Confused

'Had such a good family day' followed by 20 selfies of mum and one of all the family, she really loves herself.
Any post really that involves lots of selfies especially the ones that have been hairbrushed where they look nothing like they do Irl. Friends then comment saying 'you look gorge'

redcarbluecar · 30/12/2019 10:16

"Had my hair done today, not sure I like it" accompanied by pouty 'hairdo' picture which will undoubtedly attract lots of 'wit woo' type comments and 'thanks hun' responses.

iklboo · 30/12/2019 10:18

The stupid 'asylum seekers get £50 million pound a week, a mansion, a chauffeur driven car and a golden donkey each while our poor pensioners get nothing' ones.

SuperFurryDoggy · 30/12/2019 10:19

Most of these don’t bother me too much, but I have just gone back on FB after about a year off and there seems to be a lot of relational aggression that I either didn’t notice before or is prompted by the Christmas season.

Things like people replying to a photo of a child opening presents with ‘we decided to do our bit for the environment this year and gift experiences’. Nice sentiment maybe, but about a month too late to impact anything and not really an appropriate place to post it. Someone had posted a photo of their beautiful Christmas tree only to have someone comment what a lovely tree, but that seeing trees in houses instead of forests makes them feel sad. Like they’d gone into the woods and just tree-napped one.

TheSquitz · 30/12/2019 10:23

People who post birthday messages to the dead.

Over sharing of info. One friend got her son to photograph her moments after she came round from major brain surgery, then also posted a close up of her hospital wristband with her full name, DOB and NHS number on Confused

Trewser · 30/12/2019 10:27

Also the virtue signalers who tell you about their good deeds and how they gave a McDonalds to a homeless person. Then the sycophants who post Luv u hun in response

I have a very close family member who does this very thing. It is nauseating. I've unfollwed her in the past but she found out and sent me a text saying how horrible i was for unfollowing her.

Marriedtoapenguin · 30/12/2019 10:29

The word hun or it's derivatives. Honey is not spelled hunnee. Or hunnee xx. Or awww hunnee. And so on.

Nice to know I'm not just an utter grumpy so and so though as agree with most of the posts lol.

I agree the nastiness on local area pages is shocking but luckily my local page is saved by some absolutely glorious comedy trolling.

thenightsky · 30/12/2019 10:31

I love the still not happy with weight posts. I always reply with helpful diet and exercise tips.

I do that too. Grin

Also people who just post a weepy emoticon alongside words like 'don't ask please'. I just tick 'like'.

lotusbell · 30/12/2019 10:37

#squadgoals #mysquadisbetterthanyoursquad #couplegoals #datenight
#teamsmith or whatever your family surname is

lotusbell · 30/12/2019 10:42

Teenager social media is also hilarious.
The boys seem to put a pic of themselves up and their responses are usually "yes Liam 👊" or whatever their name is.
The girls are usually full of "stunning you" with the poster response being "says you"
Also, they like their little bios on Instagram usually their school year/school/single or taken complete with locked or unlocked padlock, then the statement "friends know who they are".
Makes me chortle
