To take the DC on holiday to Dubai?

We have two DC, 14 and 9. We've travelled fairly regularly with them but haven't ever done anywhere like Dubai/UAE. DH has found some summer holidays in those areas but I have a little weird feeling about going there - no idea why, no rational reason, I'm just uneasy but can't really put it into words.

Would you go there with DC? Have you been there with DC? Is it somewhere you'd be willing to visit?

Mauritius is also a Tier 2 Human Trafficking country. It's no better than the UAE

And given the state of the worlds democracy's today, and their unbelievable swing to the right, I'm not sure I consider democracy something everyone needs to be aiming for.

I have been to Dubai and liked it. TBH I would rather go there than an all inclusive compound in the Gambia or the Caribbean or Mexico.

And the UAE is 35th for gender inequality, Mauritius is 66th....

Why on earth would you take your kids to the Middle East in summer?! I’m arab and had to visit my grandparents in Jordan during the summer holidays. It was hell 🤣🤣🤣 the weather is seriously intense.

Plus if you want to go to that part of the Middle East go to Oman where there’s history, culture and not just shopping malls

There is plenty of history and culture in the UAE if you, literally, just drive an hour out of Dubai in any direction. Dubai is a bit Vegas/Orlando, but the rest of the country isn't.
