Which do you think would be a better subscription gift for sensible elderly parents interested in current affairs but who live far from London?

The Week, unless they take a paper every day, in which case, the speactator.

Depends on their politics. Spectator is the Conservative cheer leader magazine so pretty right wing, the week is more neutral.

The Week would be my choice of the too. Also, maybe The Oldie. Even though I'm not there in their target market age range it is a fun read occasionally!

Unless they're very right wing Tory, I would suggest the Week rather than the Spectator (which, in my opinion is awful).
