AIBU to ask what sex isn't baby?

Savuti · 26/12/2019 23:29

I am pregnant with my second, AIBU to ask if my next baby will be the same sex as my first or more likely (anecdotally rather than scientifically) to be different.

Most sibling sets I know are the same boy/boy or girl/girl.

Do you agree? Or am I getting the opposite sex this time round?

Just for 'fun'

Definitely not 50:50. You have a higher chance of having the same sex repeated.

My parents were both from boy girl families but I’m the third of four and the only girl. I have a girl and a boy.

@SuperMeerkat I'm not using this thread or any of my intuition to make a big bet. I'm just curious as my experience tells me most family and friends have b/b of g/g

I also know lots of same sex siblings actually.

I have two boys, two siblings have two girls. My other sibling has 4 girls one boy.

Although I have two sisters and one brother.

There are five sets of cousins in my generation on my dad's side and we are all single sex pairs/ threes. On my mum's s side just one set of boy/ girl cousins 🤷‍♀️

ISpeakJive · 27/12/2019 09:13

@Savuti well, no. You haven’t specified what your current child’s sex is.

1nsom · 27/12/2019 09:16

My hairdresser told me she can 'only carry girls' (she has 3 daughters). I thought this was complete rubbish but it's something to do with the Y chromosome I think. Therefore it's possible (but extremely rare I presume) to only be able to have daughters. As far as I know there's no such condition where you can only carry boys.

Mmmcheesecake · 27/12/2019 09:40

My mum had two girls. My dad four girls one boy. I have 3 girls.

Savuti · 27/12/2019 09:51

@Ispeakjive I wrote that I'm not fussed about what I have next and am not finding out the gender.

Why do you assume I have a son and want a girl next?

We're a family of same sex sibling pairs. 4 pairs including my sibling and I, 3 are boy boy and we're girl girl. Each one of us has then had boy boy (except 1 who just has one boy).
