Was married to someone for 6 years who did fuck all in or out of the house. He's very workshy and his lack of ambition and laziness killed any love I had for him. I couldn't respect him. Funny enough I was made to feel a 'gold digger' Hmm Never again.

So I'm just curious, what does your DH do for a living?

Mechanic. We opened our own garage a year ago and have never been so skint.... hopefully the big bucks will come rolling in soon!

ReadyPayerTwo · 26/12/2019 18:10

My DH has his own carpentry firm.

Leahkins · 26/12/2019 18:12

Electrician, I’m speech therapist and we earn about the same....

SAHD
And a fabulous one at that!

Lifeover · 26/12/2019 18:16

DH = rent boy
Me = dominatrix

We masquerade as accountants. It’s easier for those form filling exercises. There’s never a box for sex work.

Freeshavocado · 26/12/2019 18:21

Number one mechanic on a race car, so he's away lots but sadly the salary is peanuts...it's his dream job though so I'm happy to be the main bread winner

DH runs the IT department at a non-profit organization.

What an interesting exercise in the fine art of British class signaling thread. Smile

Quite depressing that women feel the need to stress that they are not gold diggers if their DH has a high paying job.

CactusAndCacti · 26/12/2019 18:57

Househusband?
Homemaker?
Kept man?
Carer?

Take your pick.

honeyloops · 26/12/2019 19:10

Something to do with science. Is reasonably well paid (but nowhere near £70k). I work in marketing.

Dearryme · 26/12/2019 19:13

Merchant navy officer- marine engineering. Well paid depending on the job and if he is out of the country for a certain amount of days per year then he gets all of his tax back.

forgivemeimnew · 26/12/2019 19:15

It’s quite interesting how a lot of DH’s are in similar jobs. My DH is a financial advisor and Director within the company.

SAHD currently after being made redundant last year. Before that he was a manager in retail.

Although money is tighter, life has been so much easier this year having dh at home and he absolutely loves (and excels at!) it. The house is always clean, there’s always someone to take the dc to activities, we don’t need childcare and for the first time in ten years we’re not like passing ships trying to juggle work/family/life.

We’re currently working on opening our own online retail business so that he doesn’t have to go back to full time work when dc3 starts school in 2 years.
