To ask what does your DH/DP do for a living?

Was married to someone for 6 years who did fuck all in or out of the house. He's very workshy and his lack of ambition and laziness killed any love I had for him. I couldn't respect him. Funny enough I was made to feel a 'gold digger' Hmm Never again.

So I'm just curious, what does your DH do for a living?

Lawyer.
He’s very hands on with house/kids/dogs but we met when we were at university and I had the big swinging job through the first two DCs’ younger years, while he was a student/doing his training contract.

I earned almost the same as exH for less hours and did 90% of the household stuff, but on divorce it was all about what he'd earned and contributed, told people I worked part time and he did everything, fairly standard to make the stxw out to be a gold digger.

My current DP doesn't live with me, so his job isn't that relevant, I'm a middle manager in the public sector.

DH was a flying instructor, he realised the place he worked for was about to go bust and ended up finding a job in finance. He’s doing his ACCA now, bit of a weird career change.
We earn a similar wage at the moment, but I’m PT.

I was called a ‘gold digger’ by my SIL at one stage.
Yes, because working 13 hours a day to support us, whilst he studied for his degree and licenses (which he doesn’t even sodding use now) is obviously the best way to kill time whilst waiting for the money to roll in. Hmm Grin

Ghostonthedancefloor · 27/12/2019 23:11

Welder/fabricator.

Works bloody hard but wish he’d have some fire in his belly to use his experience and move on up. He’s got the potential.

I’m in pharmaceuticals. Re-training though.
