Was married to someone for 6 years who did fuck all in or out of the house. He's very workshy and his lack of ambition and laziness killed any love I had for him. I couldn't respect him. Funny enough I was made to feel a 'gold digger' Hmm Never again.

So I'm just curious, what does your DH do for a living?

OP posts:
newbingepisodes · 27/12/2019 19:55

Civil engineer

Kateguide · 27/12/2019 19:56

I have just asked him (no idea what his job title is), customer and insight director. He works very hard. Not around much during the week but pulls his weight when he can.

Just wondering why you don't want to know what the women do as well? I find the partnership / jobs dynamic and how people make it work much more interesting than 'my husband does this brag, brag, brag'

I work as well btw

CableknitSweaters · 27/12/2019 19:57

My OH and I both work in retail (both Band 2, so above minimum wage) and bring home a similar income.

Construction/offshore/rail auditor, Quality, safety, environmental, document, manager, diver, hydrographic surveyor, welding engineer, radiographer, and consultant worldwide. Does all or some of these depending on the contract requirements and type of job needed?

Lostintransfixation · 27/12/2019 20:01

Previously in an 80s band. They did very very well. DH made some good investments and every few years they have another come back tour which keeps us living well. But he does sweet FA around the house. Spends more time in front of the mirror than he does with me. If anyone knew what he was really like they really really wouldn't swoon. But I wouldn't change him really.

MintyMabel · 27/12/2019 20:02

he is vastly experienced and knows more about the aircraft than the people who designed them and the people who fly them put together.

My BIL has the same job and the same chip on his shoulder too.

lilgreen · 27/12/2019 20:03

Ooooh give us a clue @Lostintransfixation I was a teen in the 80s.

Junie70 · 27/12/2019 20:07

Managing Director of his own business (bespoke furniture). I'm now working there full time too, in charge of the office/business administration. I resisted for 20 years but necessity meant I had to crack and join in Grin

He works harder than anyone I know, but the trade off is that he's totally knackered and mentally drained by the time he gets home Hmm

Spacebowlisback · 27/12/2019 20:07

My DH is an Oscar-winning Actor.

You only needed to say the job, not the awards. Wink

linsey2581 · 27/12/2019 20:08

My husband is a mental health nurse for over 65s. I am also a nurse but general medicine. Both extremely proud of our NHS uniforms.

GiftedFish · 27/12/2019 20:09

Store manager for a supermarket chain. Money is pretty shit. Salaried so quite abit of unpaid overtime, which is annoying but have to remember the bonus' are brilliant, so kind of makes up for it.
It's what they wanted to do and have aimed for for the last 4 years, so it's all good. I earn triple what they do so it's all good. We are sensible and more than comfortable.
