From January 2010 to now ...

The good:

I prefer current education system (I know that’s subjective)
I think people are still more clued onto children’s rights and abuse - watching Three Girls set in 2008 brought it home that attitudes have changed for the better
Umm ... I finally got a pay rise!
Technology. Wowza.

The bad

Trans nonsense
Obesity levels still going up
Environmental problems

The ugly

Me. I’m no longer 29 Xmas Sad

Well I’ve got a better boyfriend than I had in January 2010 (well, husband now). Me and DH met in April 2010.

Education system far worse and more stretched in my opinion- teacher married to a teacher throughout the 2010s.

Sad to have only had a Labour government for less than five months of the decade.

Was that a joke?

These are extremely personal rather than big commentary. I've just turned 40 so I've thought about the decade a fair bit

The good:
DC 1 in 2010, DC2 in 2012, which changed us from 'just married ha ha we're not really grownups are we ha ha" to... what we are now. It's good. I like it, but it was seismic change.

I changed career and it was a change infinitely for the better. I am happier, get paid more, and feel like there's more scope and future.

I took up a new hobby I love, and there hasn't been a downside. It's full of nice people and I have not encountered drama I couldn't ignore/mute.

There's been some excellent fiction by women, especially in a genre I love. And great graphic novels, too.

Legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild was an extraordinary change and improvement in a game-system I've loved since I was a kid. I truly had a 'wow, what a time to be alive' moment when I first played it (and on re-plays).

The Bad:

I used to think we could solve/fix the environment issue, and that there was sufficient political will and time.
Now I know it's about living with the damage we've caused and agitating to stop further damage, and I feel a kind of grief and despair about it, if I'm honest. Like, we're powerless because we cannot seem to limit the capitalism which drives fossil fuel consumption, and etc.
