To ask if you were given £5k what would you spend it on?

Just that really. No bills.

What would you do?

A fantastic holiday.

No debt here and save regularly so an unexpected £5K would go on something nice. Probably a new walnut dining table and since there's a sale on that I'll get some curtains as well. Currently have no curtains and my grandparent's dining table that is only an 8 seater so not big enough when we have visitors.

Maybe the games console/pc I've been contemplating and save the rest.

The bedroom being plastered, new carpet and fitted wardrobes in the alcove.

Holiday - any available money always goes on holidays

Better accomodation for myself and my kids

Do the garden up do the kids can play out

I would spend it on lovely suitcases. Frivolous but there's something about good luggage that really makes me smile ( I know, I'm odd !)

Half into a FOR ME fund, just in case...you know? Hidden obviously, but we never know do we? A cushion is nice no matter what your circumstances are anyway. IMV.

The rest I would just spend on things I absolutely NEED, not want. If anything left over give yourself a treat.

Ooh - as this is a fantasy, I'm feeling crap after having a baby last year, so I'd want to: spend 1k on a personal trainer, 1k on some gorgeous well cut expensive clothes and 3k on adult braces you wear at night, a little bit of subtle Botox and lip filler done by someone who is so discreet it's almost invisible, and delicately done semi permanent eyeliner and eyebrows. wistful sigh

But I'd probably put it in savings or an isa in the real world.

I’d add it to the children’s house deposit accounts and maybe a weekend break away.

Debts, no question. Maybe keep £1k for family stuff.

A really nice musical instrument so that'd be about £1500. Then a holiday to Ireland or Eastern Europe - about 1k. Save the rest.

Holiday (kids never been aboard) or upgrade the car.

In reality I’d save it but if I had to spend it I’d buy new handmade curtains for my sitting room with box pelmets and an antique roll top desk .

And if I had anything left a beautiful wool rug for my hall .

or lush shop or on candles

Put it into my kids ISAs

£5k would completely clear my debts so I’d do that!

Put it towards moving to a bigger house.

Car as I really need a newer one.

Probably Disney for Easter.

I was given that amount and I bought a sofa and put the rest towards a mortgage .

Driving lessons for me and DH, then I have no idea. Probably a new laptop and phone so I can keep writing and start up a new venture (blog)

Get my parents both an ancestry dna kit to help with some family mysteries.
