Just that really. No bills.

What would you do?

Decorate my new house, we moved in the summer in an emergency situation, the house we're in now was meant to be temporary accommodation, but as we love it so much, have really settled in well, and have coped well with it, the council said we could stay here permanently.

The decor is fine, but it would be lovely to be able to decorate it to our taste. My previous house hadn't had any decorating done for 17 years.

Like most people I could probably go two ways on this. Either put a skylight each in the kitchen and bathroom, plus a bit of tidying up in there. Or id do a course that Im interested in that would further my career, ache build ( the start of) a studio in my garden that I could use as a workspace.

A lovely sunny holiday.

catlady3 · 25/12/2019 17:23

Might use it to extend mat leave and make up the resulting pension deficit.

DiseasesOfTheSheep · 25/12/2019 17:26

I'd buy another pony. To hell with being sensible.

EnglishRain · 25/12/2019 17:26

I'd buy a horse. A really nice one Smile

ZaraW · 25/12/2019 17:27

I'd go back to Namibia on safari and spend a few days in Cape Town on the way back home.

TinkysWinky · 25/12/2019 17:29

new kitchen needed here!

CloudsCanLookLikeSheep · 25/12/2019 17:32

Probably clear all my debts, but if that comes under 'no bills' then it'd be a new car. Not brand new as 5k wouldn't stretch to that, but newer .

SendCoffeeASAP · 25/12/2019 17:34

We are currently working through my sister's bucket list, and because of her health conditions we can't do one of them. Her travel/health insurance is more than the entire holiday combined, so I'd use it for that! I'd make sure we had the best time and make the best memories. Lottery is on for tonight, so there's still hope!

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 25/12/2019 17:34

Holiday!

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 25/12/2019 17:36

Redo the front "garden". Currently an ugly patch of gravel with some straggly overgrown bushes & a eucalyptus I hate! I would like that all ripped out properly, and turf laid out, maybe a border where the grass meets the pavement.

36degrees · 25/12/2019 17:39

New car if mine dies, otherwise a new bathroom and flights to see family in the summer holidays.

wictional · 25/12/2019 17:44

Put it towards moving out of my parents so I could have my own family home

BuffaloCauliflower · 25/12/2019 17:45

Buy a new car. I want something bigger and my car is so close to dying. At the moment hoping to save enough to buy before it clonks out and not have to get whatever out of need

KatherineJaneway · 25/12/2019 17:45

Pay it off the mortgage

mizu · 25/12/2019 17:46

14 year old car so probably something a little newer.

A holiday would be nice - and a splurge in TOAST Grin

Sensibly, I would probably spend it on the car or a new boiler or renewing the lease on our flat.

Bedsheets4knickers · 25/12/2019 17:50
