To wonder what the neighbors have given us?

Our lovely neighbors are artists and sometimes give us artwork for Christmas.
Just opened their gift this year, and we are trying to figure it out.
There are four objects, all ceramic. The two cones (Christmas trees?) are glazed, the rods (not sure?) are not.
I've tried reverse search in google images, but it only suggested 'toys'.
Anyone seen anything like this - or know how it should be assembled? Or maybe its just unique mystery art?!

Confused

Abstract art?

devoedtobitsandback · 25/12/2019 11:34

For garden/plant pots. They are mushrooms/toadstools.

Mskatonic · 25/12/2019 11:34

Are there holes in the bottom of the cones? If so I'd suggest they fit onto the sticks to make little Christmas tree plant pot decorations.

fairybeagle · 25/12/2019 11:34

Was going to say the same as above, stuck into plant pots then balance the trees/toppers on top. Like mushroom type things

TheJoxter · 25/12/2019 11:36

Yep if there’s holes in the bottom then the tree sits on top of the brown one and the toadstool sits on top of the white one, then the other ends stuck into soil in a plant pot

AhoyMrBeaver · 25/12/2019 11:36

There will be holes in the base of the trees for the sticks.

starfishmummy · 25/12/2019 11:47

I love them!!!

ChristmasEveEveEve · 25/12/2019 11:51

Yes they are for your garden Smiletoadstool type things

ainsisoisje · 25/12/2019 12:00

Are they posh knitting needles? crochet needles?!

81Byerley · 25/12/2019 12:03

They look like some garden or plant pot art I've seen. Stick one end in the soil, put the ornament on the top of the rod, and they jingle in the wind.

VenusOfWillendorf · 25/12/2019 12:26

Have just put one in the big plant pot by the front door. Works perfectly. We love them!!
Thanks mumsnet Xmas Grin
