I’m feeling sad as I’ve read So many posts from people saying they’re disappointed, or DH’s haven’t bothered etc and they’re having a shit time.
Have you received everything you asked for ?

DH has been very good this year and more festive than ever knowing we have a little one the size of a poppy seed inside me currently ! I think that’s helped lol
DH is doing all the cooking as I can’t bare the smell but I’m going to try my best .
I’ve been asking for 6 years for cow girl boots (something i have always wanted), but still awaiting those 🤣 but other than that I’m happy and hope you are too!

@MrsDilligaf - that's worse than no presents. What did he do? Raid your bathroom cabinet? 🙁

MrsMozartMkII · 25/12/2019 18:01

Yes. He's a good chap really and makes me, on the whole, happier than I probably deserve to be.

dementedma · 25/12/2019 18:01

Yes. A bottle of my favourite perfume (Hermes), Bill Bryson book, Chilly’s water bottle, pretty earrings and necklace, and a lovely sea horse pendant. Slight fails were other earrings (too bling) and Jack Reacher books which I’m not a huge fan of, but a good job overall!

TheFuzzyStar · 25/12/2019 18:04

I send mine suggestions now Grin I got a couple of books a new chain for a necklace he got for my birthday that the chain was too short for and some chocolates. That’s fine for me, the kids are priority.

NorthEndGal · 25/12/2019 18:05

Very thoughtful gifts from him, and everyone really.
I do appreciate it!

SecretNutellaFix · 25/12/2019 18:07

Yes, I am happy.

I gave him a choice of design for the main present but he added the linked bits himself and I am happy.

New bag, Harry Potter mug and notebook and new travel mug after I was gutted I smashed my other one.

Spacerader · 25/12/2019 18:09

Dp really spoilt me this year, I had a beautiful gold bangle and necklace, trainers, perfume and loads of really nice stockings gifts, make up brushes, earrings, bath stuff etc. He even got me lovely new pjs for christmas eve. He is a good egg.

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 25/12/2019 18:10

Noooo @pasanda that's awful. Take it back and get something else.

UncleHerbie · 25/12/2019 18:10

Loads: 3 books, Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin eau de cologne, loads of Clarins stuff from the stepchildren (14 & 27)and a stunning vintage Givenchy pendant which is also a brooch. Totally delighted and shocked, I adore it

My spouse is comically bad at buying presents for me, and I've started to see it as funny instead of disappointing. This year I got a book in a genre I don't read, a game in a genre I don't play, toiletries of a brand I don't use and chocolates of a kind I've told them twice I'm not fond of.

StayDetermined · 25/12/2019 18:11

DH got me a sewing stool. I got him a ghillie kettle for using at the allotment.
The children got us chocolate and beer.

Very happy with that!

myusernamewastakenbyme · 25/12/2019 18:11

I got a beautiful silver bangle with mine and DH's initials engraved on it....a ticket to west end show of my choice and hotel in London for the night...a silver keyring engraved with the most beautiful words and an oil diffuser that smells gorgeous....ive been very spoilt.

GrannyBags · 25/12/2019 18:12

DH and I don’t buy each other Christmas presents. Most things we need during the year we buy (joint account) and don’t feel the need to buy stuff just for the sake of it. I suppose my present to him was that I bought and wrapped all the presents for the family and his to me will be him doing all the cooking for visitors for the next two days.

PinkSpring · 25/12/2019 18:13

I got a necklace, bracelet, perfume and Dyson airwrap Grin

PlugUgly1980 · 25/12/2019 18:16

My DH excelled himself...he knows me too well, a running jacket, new running top, running belt, 6 month subscription to (you guessed it...a running magazine!) and some framed photos from my first marathon this year. All the right size items of clothes and my favourite colours! Didn't even need to write him a list. Also some slippers from the kids! I'm very happy and feeling very loved. He's usually good with buying gifts, but this year has been extra thoughtful.

Nuttyaboutnutella · 25/12/2019 18:24

We kept it simple this year as I won't be going back to work for a while (maternity leave ending next month and eldest undergoing assessment for ASD)

I had a lovely, super soft dressing gown (much needed) from DP, and my favourite chocolates and gloves (also needed) from the children.

He also had a dressing gown from me, a personalised notebook and chocolates from DC.

malificent7 · 25/12/2019 18:25

Mine got me pretty earrings ( good) and underwaear ( i went half) and holiday photos from a holiday we had this year. I think he was trying to be thoughtful but it was a bit off the mark.....not sure why as they are lovely photos. He's lovely but hit and miss with gifts. I might suggest we don't bother next year as i put loads of thought into his.

moglovesmincepies · 25/12/2019 18:26

Yes but I was with him when he bought it and vice versa.
But I love love love it and will wear it and think of him everyday.

newbingepisodes · 25/12/2019 18:26

No presents for me or DH in our house. We buy what we want and need throughout the year. Xmas is just chilling, eating and playing with the kids.

pasanda · 25/12/2019 18:34

Ladytired. Well I'm thinking about returning it but I don't think he'd be too chuffed seeing as when he gave it to me he explained he'd almost given it to me as an early present so as I could mop of all the piss that the dog keeps doing in the kitchen as he's senile (the dog, not dh).
He genuinely thinks I should be chuffed.

cantthinkofauniquename · 25/12/2019 18:34

In the past, my DH has gone way ott with his gifts but it always made me resentful as he was spending money we didn't have.

We agreed to reign it in this year and he's actually done it. We treated ourselves to a gorgeous set of Lagostina pans on the black Friday sales and weren't supposed to be getting anything else. But he got me a $50 voucher to my favourite book shop and I got him a bottle of his favourite whiskey. Finally he's got it that keeping it within what we can afford is what actually makes me happy.

It's the kids that have made me weep with happiness today. They are 12 and 15 so the santa magic ended this year to be replaced with a different magic. They are both officials in their chosen sport and so have been earning their own money (3rd year for DS, 1st for DD). DS bought me a mug and a hoodie, DD bought me a book, chocolate and a box of flavoured tea. It was DDs first ever paycheck and they both chose to spend their money so thoughtfully.

FizzyIce · 25/12/2019 18:35

Dh is always great at picking presents.
Had some brilliant ones today

Itsnotalwaysfair · 25/12/2019 18:39

Yes! Chocolates and a bar of hair shampoo to try out. He got a book he seems pleased with

gerbo · 25/12/2019 18:42

No presents here. No need.

Instead we'll head out for a meal together to cheer up January and I'm already really looking forward to that. Time together is what we need more of, rather than stuff.

Skinandbones · 25/12/2019 18:42

We bothered this year for a change, dh bought me something when we went on holiday and a couple of other things. I bought him a messaging bag and although he didn't say much I could tell he loved it.
But I fell ill a couple of days ago with nasty kidney stones and he's really looked after me.
