I think Santa has our time zone wrong. He's already been! we put the boys to bed at 6.30

No, not here yet.
Ds2 is still in the bath. Ds1 is watching random gamers on YouTube.
I anticipate the jolly fat man will arrive after DH and have had a nice big glass of something festive and watched some more of the new series of The Expanse.
We've yet to have the long winded discussion about stocking placement.

NemophilistRebel · 24/12/2019 19:43

Not part of your point but I love your fireplace - what kind of stove is that?

PastaSauceHoarder · 24/12/2019 19:43

My two and a half year old doesn't go to bed until 8 - shes being really good and tidying up her toys in the living room ready for Father Christmas coming right now. Xmas Smile Then we're going to pour him a little glass of Baileys before she pops off to bed.

I can't wait until shes asleep and I can get all the presents down!! Xmas Grin

Pascha · 24/12/2019 19:43

Mine are still watching Elf with bowls of sweets. Bed is 8pm which means 9pm. I've already started the whiskey, all the presents are safely with Santa though so all that's left is to make the hot chocolate, jam tart and carrot out.

Bitofnamechanging · 24/12/2019 19:46

@Trafalger glad I could provide some nostalgia.

They're one and two and will be up around 6.15. We've just peeled the potatoes and prepared the stuffing.

Takeaway curry should be here at 8. Currently sat down with a glass of wine.

Just wondering why others have voted iabu?

He also needs to wrap everything because he was a procrastinating dickhead who didn't even start it until a few days ago.

Our two are hyper and still having stories. My money is on DS being asleep in seconds and DD (6) being still awake at midnight. She has form.

Bitofnamechanging · 24/12/2019 19:47

@NemophilistRebel it's a dimplex. The flames run on water vapour. I love it. Dh designed and built the fireplace. And it also houses our tv

Bitofnamechanging · 24/12/2019 19:48

@NemophilistRebel the mirror is our TV behind a mirror glass. and our wine cupboard is also hidden in there too

No way. DCs are in bed, just, but DC2 has been getting out of bed and coming downstairs a lot in recent weeks so Santa isn’t taking any chances.

jigsawmaniac · 24/12/2019 19:55

5 year old ds in bed but not even nearly asleep yet. Santa likely to arrive about 9.30 once we are sure he won't wake up! Loft hatch in room next to him and very noisy to open.

MyNameIsMrsGrumpy · 24/12/2019 19:55

Mine have literally just gone to bed...and are still not asleep 💤

🎅 will be popping by at 11pm ish before we turn in for the night

Witchend · 24/12/2019 19:57

Feel smug now.

I will feel smug at 9:30 tomorrow morning when mine are still asleep.

JustACog · 24/12/2019 19:58

Your fire is lovely!

Clackyheels · 24/12/2019 19:59

We bought DD a second hand bike. It was my DH idea and he got it etc. I asked him if he'd got it out to clean/wrap yet (I've done everything else).

He's just run off to tescos with it in the car to use the tyre pump!! So dont know when santas coming!!!

halocompanach · 24/12/2019 19:59

Santa is sitting impatiently waiting for a teenager to get off Fortnite and go up to his room so he can sort out the pile hiding in plain view under the throw in the corner of the lounge.

It's wrapped but needs the string and name tags adding and sorting out which is which since Santa who was tipsy forgot to initial it one so he knows who they are for.

Twolittlebears · 24/12/2019 20:01

@Bitofnamechanging WHAT?!? Not the point of your thread, but your mirror is your TV AND wine cupboard... tell me more. It looks great!!Is it too late for me to ask Santa for this set up in my about to renovated living room Christmas?

Bitofnamechanging · 24/12/2019 20:07

@Twolittlebears the wine cupboard is to the right hand side of the fireplace around the corner. If that makes sense. It's a flush door so no handles. I bloody love the whole fireplace. Dh sourced the stone at the bottom from a pool table. He cut and polished it. And the oak mantle was an untreated massive oak beam. The other half is still in the shed. In essence it's basically a hollow framework with plaster board all the way around. Dh did say that the framework was complicated to hold the tv, contain all the electrics and include the cupboards

No. Santa still needs to get wrapping ...

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 24/12/2019 20:11

Santa is waiting till all three under 5s are asleep. DT2, check.... DT1 possibly but wouldn't bet on it.... DD1 no chance. They are tucked up in bed but shouts and giggles emanating from upstairs.

Never mind, as Santa has to pack beach gear for tomorrow and clean an entire kitchen's worth of dishes. I he may start on the Bailey's now.....

MinkowskisButterfly · 24/12/2019 20:12

Santa hasn't been yet here. Dd2 (4) has been wanting to go to bed since 2.30 this afternoon 😂, put her to bed at 7 and she has only just fallen asleep (I've been sat on her floor for a bloody hour whilst she played with my hair). I was kindly told she will be waking up in the middle of the night as that is when Santa comes so she can open her presents, based on how well -awful- she sleeps normally it won't surprise me!

ForestYeti · 24/12/2019 20:17

No Santa is always paranoid that dc will wake up and come down and see he’s been so not til late, plus they’re all still bright eyed & bushy tailed so can’t see bedtime being before 9ish

MercedesDeMonteChristo · 24/12/2019 20:19

DC11 and DC8 have popped out (in their Christmas PJs) with DH to deliver some gifts. DC13 and I are watching Death in Paradise waiting for them to come back. We’ll watch Disney ‘A Christmas Carol’ as our tradition so unlikely Santa will arrive before about midnight. Last year, I had to set a bloody alarm for 2am! DC8 still believes and also reminded me how Santa has laid the breakfast table for the last few years!

Whatsername177 · 24/12/2019 20:20

Not yet (although wondering if you really want to know or just showing off your gorgeous fire place?! lighthearted). I have two dds aged 2 (almost 3) and 8. They have insisted on sleeping in the same room so dd2's toddler bed has been moved into her sisters room. Dd2 is asleep, dd1 is still wide awake! I absolutely love this bit though. Merry Christmas, all.Xmas Grin

U2HasTheEdge · 24/12/2019 20:21

This is the first year that Santa no longer comes to my house. It's.. different. More relaxed, but less magical. No more worrying that my children will see Santa putting the presents out though!

PumpkinPie2016 · 24/12/2019 20:25

Not been here yet - we have just finished watching the polar express and DS (6) has just gone to bed so need to wait until he is asleepXmas Grin

Feeling relaxed now though!

I am not cooking tomorrow, SiL is, so don't even have veg to prep for the first time in 5 years!
