...what you do to make a meal from them more healthful and what other dishes you enjoy.

Not a poverty-question btw. We really just enjoy the taste sometimes and can easily afford other foods.

No, we won’t eat them at Christmas.

Stop! The point of a pot noodle, surely, is it's immediately available, no preparation. Instant revival with no additions. At least, that's what I've been told. Don't fancy them at all so have never tried any.

JoanBonJovi · 24/12/2019 07:49

Healthful

Straightintoit · 24/12/2019 07:49

I love a ramen as much as the next person but strongly feel that a Pot Noodle should be enjoyed as is, with no poncing up.

And also with a full fat coke, obviously.

@MrOnionsBumperRoller Sounds like s Great idea

When I lived on my own I ate a lot of Super Noodles. Quick when you get in from work and can't be bothered.

missnevermind · 24/12/2019 08:06

Pot Noodle is the devil's work. Plastic pot boiling water bleugh.
Instant noodles on the other hand are fantastic quick tasty versatile. The kids can make them themselves as a snack or they have them as a meal with peas and fish fingers.
Me I like them for lunch with a piece of bread and butter.

bluebluezoo · 24/12/2019 08:17

I love pot noodles Grin

Don’t eat the “Pot Noodle” brand anymore, i prefer the Itsu and other, “posher” versions.

While maybe not “healthful” Hmm, they are a simple, easy meal, and relatively low in calories compared to a sandwich and bag of crisps. So they are my choice for packed lunches where i’ll have access to a kettle.

Juliette20 · 24/12/2019 08:21

They aren't unhealthy unless you are on a faddy low carb diet, it's just noodles and flavouring. Ok if you lived on them and didn't eat vegetables it would be, but you could say that about anything.

I've made a meal of the Aldi noodles by adding stir fried veg. Delicious!

Mumshappy · 24/12/2019 08:22

Grin

ODFOkaren · 24/12/2019 08:42

I bloody love a pit noodle.

The Aldi ones are cheaper though.

When I had my first job I had two pounds a day for food, I Ioved off them and survived.

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 24/12/2019 08:42

Curry pot noodles are a joy. They’re not healthy and not meant to be.

ODFOkaren · 24/12/2019 08:42

Oh Christ the typos but you get what I mean.

PooWillyBumBum · 24/12/2019 08:43

I don’t like the “pot noodle” brand at all. When I was in my first trimester I thought I had a craving for them but when I tried one it was too salty and with icky chewy bits. Never again!

I used to like the chicken and the beef flavoured ones when I was younger, they’ve taken all the tasty salt and artificial flavours out now so they’re a bit bland.

Still bloody love a Bombay bad boy with lashings of extra sriracha sauce, perfect hangover breakfast food.

PullingMySocksUp · 24/12/2019 08:49

I add frozen prawns and tinned sweet corn to the ones you put in a pan to make a proper meal. Takes ten seconds.

Hobbesmanc · 24/12/2019 08:50

Oh there is nothing nicer than a supernoodle sarnie when you feel hungover. I like spicy beef, nuked in the microwave till they are gloopy, then scooped onto soft thickly buttered white bread.....

CactusSmactus · 24/12/2019 08:50

Chicken and mushroom flavour with white sliced bread is amazing! V rarely eat it because it's so unhealthy but I love it!

This! Bbq supernoodles work with white bread too :)

lowlandLucky · 24/12/2019 09:20

I bought 2 a few weeks ago for the first time in years, what have they done with the taste ? They were awful.. i used to love the beef and tomato, chicken and mushroom and the spicy curry. They were tasteless compared to the original ones. Never again

Vellichor · 24/12/2019 09:37

I occasionally fancy the chicken and mushroom one. I have added some leftover cooked chicken or quorn to the pot a few times to make it more filling. Spring onions also nice.
