Tillygetsit · 23/12/2019 23:30

Oh bum I've forgotten stuffing too. Hope the corner shop has some.

Beachhutgirl · 23/12/2019 23:34

Assume I ordered a single sprout rather than a bag. I think I'll serve it ceremoniously to DB, no-one else is that bothered about them.

curious541 · 23/12/2019 23:43

Lube?? How dry are you expecting your turkey to be?!? 😳

curious541 · 23/12/2019 23:47

Was Dad's favourite Sad keeping his tradition going

Oh and fat/oil for roasties

Defo gotta go back to supermarket (bugger)

DisneyMillie · 23/12/2019 23:51

allspice berries but I’m guessing I won’t be able to tell the difference (for brining turkey)

Crunchymum · 23/12/2019 23:59

Brown sauce. Apparently that is all my DP can have on turkey sandwiches (which is news to me and we've been together 13 years Grin)

CrowleysBentley · 24/12/2019 00:01

I'm just using this thread to add things to my list that I would have forgotten in the morning (silverskin onions, and turkey foil - though I might just use the narrower stuff and fold it together).

I'm going to Sainsbos at 6. I should probably put the phone down and get some sleep really.

francienolan · 24/12/2019 00:02

I forgot loads and had to go back--Bombay mix, smoked salmon, soft drinks (remembered the wine!!), mince pies. Braved M&S and Tesco in the city center, absolute carnage.

Fruitbatdancer · 24/12/2019 00:04

I went round mums earlier to assess the fridge! I told her her giant pigs in blankets were unacceptable, and she’s bought frozen Yorkshire’s! Outrageous! So I’m off for chiploatas, streaky bacon and eggs in the morning to put it right Grin

22Giraffes · 24/12/2019 00:14

A carrot for Rudolph
Toothpaste for the kids
Lurpak
Pasta
A crate of walnut whips for me

Back to Morrisons tomorrow Hmm

Ninkanink · 24/12/2019 00:16

Actually steamed sprouts then gently sautéed in lots of butter and seasoned with salt and pepper are delicious!

Thelnebriati · 24/12/2019 00:18

Remembered the foil, forgot the roasting tin!

Ninkanink · 24/12/2019 00:22

Uhm...don’t know who my comment was for, I’m sure someone was worried about not having bacon lardons to go with the sprouts!

managedmis · 24/12/2019 00:22

I got tonic and lemons - but we don't have any bloody gin.

I should just stay in bed really

managedmis · 24/12/2019 00:25

Wheaten bread
Mint leaves
Sushi
Turkish delight

Don't forget the myrrh

weegiemum · 24/12/2019 01:09

We couldn't get 1000 island dressing in our local Tesco Extra this morning. Dh drives past one on the way home from work, he described it as a "war zone" and they were also out of 1000 island.
Got it in the local coop. Only have to go out tomorrow to get the dog to the vet. And we're done!

fromdownwest · 24/12/2019 01:19

@Tillygetsit - Dried sage, bread crumbs, salt, butter, onion- Boom - Stuffing!

NewtonPulsifer · 24/12/2019 01:21

Didn’t forget but read a recipe tonight for best ever sprouts involving Parmesan cheese and wondering if I could be arsed to go get some.

NameChangedForTheDay · 24/12/2019 01:22

First Christmas with my DP I forgot to get potatoes and has none and home.

I thanked the Lord for the M&S concession in the BP garage on Christmas day.

CheshireChat · 24/12/2019 01:28

I'm very glad I've looked at this thread as I've realised we've forgotten to buy pull ups! Thank you PP who mentioned them!

HerRoyalNotness · 24/12/2019 01:34

@Ninkanink that was me with the sprouts. Will give that a try. Otherwise would roast them with curry spices. Should be fine with turkey and cranberry right? Grin

Fr0g · 24/12/2019 01:41

not strictly christmas shopping, but after going to supermarkets yeaterday and this afternoon intending to get some, I realised at about 10.50 that I had no milk.
