Yeah have been for a while

@Vivvyb48 who are you replying to? No one has tagged you in any posts that are judging you or telling you to privately rent.

The council don't ask how much you have in savings to be accepted on the waiting list.

Er... yes they do. You have to declare your savings and provide bank statements for all your accounts. When you sign the housing form you give permission for them to do a financial search on you.

Things might of changed but round here if your pregnant you'll be offered a 2 bed.

You definitely won't.

Why do people think it's their right to have cheap housing? You are beyond capable of privately renting.
"My friend this, my friend that" your friends are aspiring to get cheap council housing.

Buying and owning a house is a privilege not a right.

You use your savings on a deposit and use your more-than-adequate salary to rent a one-bedroomed property.

Yikes - you can totally afford to rent or save a bit more and buy a place. Seriously me & my husband only earn slightly more than you and we have been saving while lying £1300 rent a month the last 5years - we haven’t a penny of disposable income as anything spare goes in the house fund!! We hope to buy next year! If we can do it then you can too - doesn’t seem like you need a council flag tbh.
