To ask about loo roll...

Sonny sister and I have spent much time with elderly relative recently at her house as she's not well.

When I put loo roll on holder I have the 'loose' side facing me, so I can easily find the end and pull it down. Have discovered, though, that sister does it other way round, so loose bit abuts the wall.

Neither of us have discussed this but in a supremely passive-aggressive way we each keep changing it round.

AIBU to feel my sister is nuts because obviously it's easier if the loose bit faces you as you sit on loo, so it's not necessary to scrabble against wall to find the end?

Teenage DS did this recently (ie. put it the wrong way round like your sister did) so I told him he clearly wasn't mine and must have been swapped at birth!

I am alone in not giving a fig, just replace the empty roll I don't care which way round you do it but if you finish it, replace it don't leave it for the next person to do.

If you have a steamy bathroom and it is the other way round it sticks to the tiles on the wall.

Also it is easier to reach out and grab it.

In the Fifties (am very old), women’s magazines always recommended the loose side should be put at the back - more economical as it was more difficult to be wasteful.

It should be law. It’s awful at work when it’s put the wrong way and touches the dirty public toilet wall which in turn has lots of fingers that has touched it. Grim not envy
